We must all put buckets for the purchase of 1 to 10,000 satosh on the classic air and wait for the draining of the Kidaika Afyorina preama. Then the course will go up again. Such a daring, decentralized, uncompromising and principled classic ether I like. I probably even buy myself.

Guys!

HAve you heard about Dexaran's ICO on ETC?

It's about making ETC etter, and more attractive, also a profit sharing token.

Too bad that Useless ethereum token received more funding than this, even though this is for the common good...

Hello everyone,

I have read a little bit before I invested on ETC in the beginning of June. Prices dropped dramatically since then and I want to understand what is the problem ETC faces lately. Unfortunately I do not have much time to dig in so any reading recommendation would be highly appreciated. Shall I read this thread only?

Kind regards,
Utku

Well let's start with the fact that etc prides itself on being immutable, but runs a moderated bitcointalk.  Oh the irony.  Secondly, It may be a ploy to drive down the value of bcc, it's very interesting.

Ethereum Classic announced the release of a new client: Mantis. Though Mantis is still considered as “beta” software and the developers warn against using it with real funds, this represents an important move forward for the currency.
As Ethereum Classic’s development begins to diverge from Ethereum’s, it’s clear that Ethereum Classic is no mere clone.: Ethereum Classic intends to stand on its own.

Situation with Polo is awful. Tickets are not answered for weeks. Please move all the ETC trading to bittrex. Similar volume, but much better support!

Agree, polo not really supporting ETC very well. Last time I sent minimum required funds they didn't even arrive let alone respond to my support ticket. Trading ETC doesn't make sense at this point with all its hook ups.

HODL!!

ETC deposits and withdrawals ok on polo as far as I'm concerned.

Well the problem is on poloniex not on ethereum classic because ETC is one of the few cryptos that has multiple dev teams working on core clients. That means consensus for change is hard. ETC combines the best of BTC and ETH.
1. Storage of Value
2. Censorship Resistance
3. Smart Contracts
4. Hard Cap on Supply
5. Fast TXs
And Reasons to get excited about ETC
1) IOHK's upcoming GUI for Mantis
2) Monetary Policy Upgrade
3) ETC Commonwealth ICO

ETC is going through a real healthy shake out. It pumped like clock work every 30 days from March to May. That pattern attracted a lot of weak hands trying to jump on for easy money.

In terms of a road map for Ethereum Classic, Mantis is a stepping stone to bigger things, A group of Ethereum Classic developers wants Ethereum Classic to be known as more than a “cut-and-paste” version of the Ethereum blockchain. So they spent seven months building Mantis, a unique Ethereum Classic client, from scratch.

Ethereum is advertised to use GHOST protocolfor best chain selection. The calculation is done using "total difficulty". The client will always select the chain with larger total difficulty. However, while uncles are included in blocks and miners are rewarded to include them, they do not participate in the calculation of total difficulty thus do not participate in the best chain selection. This deflicts the goal of GHOST protocol, which should always select the chain in which, including stale blocks, is the heaviest. https://github.com/ethereumproject/ECIPs/pull/71
