You can now send and receive BTC and USD from other Mt Gox users. This means that people wanting to get USD into Mt Gox just need to find people that want to get USD out of Mt Gox and then trade USD by whatever method they can agree on (Paypal, LR, AlertPAy, Cash etc)

I'm hoping a few people will try to do this formally the way LR has exchangers. There is a merchant API so it should be easy to automate if you want. Please email me if you are interested and need help getting set up.

Anyway use this thread to list offers to buy or sell mtgox USD.

We need volunteers who will buy MtGox USD for any non-chargebackable e-cash.
They have to provide their email and/or username in MtGox and bitcoin forum nik.
Also it would be good to see exchange rate for any pairs in direction Gox$ -> Liqpay, LR, WM, etc...

I can start from myself:
MtGox user: jorgen
e-mail: jorgen@safe-mail.net
Rate: 1Gox$ -> 0.8 Liqpay, 0.75 LR

Added: if you for some reason do not want to use liqpay to add money to your balance I can do this for you
my rate for this: 1 Liqpay$ = 1 Liberty Reserve$  Grin

My LR is U1727661 (btccollector)
My Liqpay is +4542488881
BTC addr: 13fZzb9M5MKEtBQTsH5EdwuzXXrBM8VYsV

feel free to PM or email to me and we negotiate terms and amounts.

This is going to make it very tedious, confusing, expensive and unnecessary. Say the price on Mt gox is .1, and I sell 10,000 coins. That's 1,000 USD on Gox. In order to cash out I'd be losing around 25%, not including withdrawal fees from liberty reserve itself if I decide to withdraw a route like that.

You guys are essentially creating your own withdrawal fee for Mt. Gox. This will increase prices on Gox and make the "USD" exchange rate incorrect in correlation to the real dollar. People will need to increase the price of coins specifically on Mt. Gox in order to offset the 25% loss if people buy Gox dollars for .75/1.

I appreciate Mt. Gox for this service, as it COULD help, but if people sell for 75 cents on the dollar, it's worthless. Mt. Gox should be equal to the dollar with MAYBE up to a 5% fee for an exchange rate. Any more and you're better off using an entirely different market. Mt Gox dollars shouldn't be worth less than the USD or now we're using a new digital currency alongside Bitcoin.

Agree 100%.

Anything different would jeopardize the trust in the entire system.

MtGox USD must be staying USD (with the expection of transaction fees as indicated above. but I'd even challenge the 5%, it needs to be lower)

I think it is fine. Let the market decided what MtGox USD are worth. If you don't like it, offer 100% of your money for MtGox USD.

To help out mtgox, and hopefully move mtgox closer to permitting withdrawals, I am offering to buy some MTGOX-USD using PayPal funds.

Terms:
  • 1:1 conversion rate
  • transaction must exceed $100 MTGOX-USD (I don't want to deal with 100 people asking me for $10 each)
  • you pay paypal fees, if any
  • you must have a good reputation on IRC or this forum

Contact me via forum PM or IRC PM, if interested.

Update: This offer is now closed.

I agree to Drifter, it is not normal, but this is TEMPORARY MEASURE for those who can't wait and do not want to convert all accumulated Gox$$ back to bitcoins then withdraw BTC and sell them on another markets to receive theirs real $$. Calculate for yourself and you will end up in even more unfair rate.

Excellent! I want to be your client. But I'm not sure I have enough reputation.
If you traded on bitcoinmarket you can know my LR acc. Also you can ask info
about my trade history from MtGox.
BTW what is the maximum amount for withdrawal.

So did mt.gox have all cash seized for money laundering or just card fraud?
Is trading mt.gox money rely just passing off bad debt?
And why is mt.gox putting up fake low quotes?

The way I see it if you buy bitcoins at $0.20gox you'll at least get half of your coin back.
If you wait too long the feds mite find his box then you get nothing.
It was a good try, and I thank mt.gox for the try.

If mt.gox was the edonky.com of bitcoin who is the pirate bay?
Perhaps we could take from the "hawala" system.
If you sell on ebay the old e-con-o-my will con you just like it did mt.gox.

Being ignorant of the situation is no excuse to write bad post accusing MtGox of things that actually did not happen.

How much Paypal is frozen? Do we know the extent of the chargebacks yet?

The exchange rate at Mt gox is too screwy for me to even use in calculations.

I'm looking for someone who will exchange my MTGOX USD into PayPal USD or PayPal EUR.
I'd like to see a nearly 1:1 exchange rate here.
The exact amount to exchange is 344.72 USD.
Since PayPal has chargeback I need someone with good reputation on this forums.

They surely aren't 1-to-1. The most they could be worth is 2% less than LR. Discount from that for the unknown wait.

Well ~345 USD to 330 USD is 4.35% loss for me. This should be a fair deal.

Thank you very much for the answer, actually I was just kinda wondering. I actually only used liqpay for depositing like 20$ and buying some coins for that amount.

I was only kind of surprised the other day because I wanted to try my brand new LR account to withdraw some MTUSD and it didn't work, I thought that the USD balance of my mtgox account would be backed by LRUSD on your account when you switched to LR, obviously it doesn't seem as simple as that.

I was surprised you dropped liqpay, it seemed pretty secure to me, when I added the few bucks not only did it check my phone number but it actually, at some point, redirected me to one of my bank's pages that asked me about my birth date which in turn confirmed the whole transaction. I found it pretty convenient to use, seemed to me they had the advantages of PP without the chargebacks inconvenients.

Just out of curiosity, why did you drop them ?

Anyway, thanks a lot for the offer and the sweet exchange platform!

Since I missed that last offer, I'll make my own.

I have $101.08 in Paypal which I'll trade for $105.13 Mt Gox. Approximately 4% transaction fee.

I can trade considerably more, but you'll have to wait for me to transfer the money into my account.

You can buy up to 20 BTC per week at CoinPal using a verified PayPal account.  I hope to increase that limit within the next few days.  You can also visit #bitcoin-otc on Freenode where bitcoins are commonly available for various payment methods.

If someone wants to be a mtgox $ exchanger talk to me since I can waive your trading fee for doing this.

What are the requirements and responsibilities of an mtgox $ exchanger?

I then use the money to buy BitCoins. You can too!

Yep, I was looking for some MTGUSD. I can pay via AUD + % convenience fee to the seller.. ie 0.94 AUD, or if someone has an offer.. pm me. I can pay via PP, but I figure bank transfer is a harder method and would be preferable to seller.

Only 1:1? Does that mean you want to buy 200 BTC for only $200? They're worth much much more than that now.

If you're willing to buy BTC at 1.5% over the best ask at MtGox of comparable size, let me know and we'll trade.

$1,000 USD minimum for Western Union/MoneyGram (International)

3-7% exchange rate depending on size.

Instant transfer to your MtGox account upon receipt of funds.

PM me for arrangements. Read this thread to review my trustworthiness and read about verified transactions: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=6223.0

How does one go about transferring MtGox USD to another MtGox user?  Is there a hidden option or must this be requested in e-mail?

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

I'm also interested in converting Mt Gox USD to LR.  PM's welcome.

When was the last time someone was able to do it on the Mt Gox site?  I get this error message (yesterday and today):

Withdraw via Liberty Reserve is currently offline. Please try again tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Withdraw via Liberty Reserve is currently offline. Please try again tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I asked them about this error and here is the answer:
Quote
We are working on solving this, due to recent increase in bitcoin value we had way more withdraws via LR than deposits via other methods, and we need some time to process the deposited funds to LR.

Other withdrawal methods are available if you need to.

I haven't tried this myself but I found this site: http://exchangezone.com/en/Welcome
You are supposed to be able to trade paypal, alertpay etc. for Liberty Reserve. Which you can use to buy Mt Gox. dollars.
Tell me if I got something wrong here...

If I really helped somebody please donate Wink
I was just about to buy some BTC but my wallet got stolen at a party yesterday. Sucks to be me right now since the Mt. Gox drop probably is just because the 30% increase in total netwark hashrate over the last 24h...

Donations always appreciated: 1GkRu9rZxk5iMRzsrcZxZ3BUHV1SWNZ9RB

I have $334 Mt. Gox USD, that i would like to sell for paypal USD since something keeps failing when trying to withdraw to europe sepa bank.

If you have a good reputation here, i will go first, otherwise we'll have to sort it out in smaller pieces or something.

Allso need someone to tell me how to transfer Mt. Gox USD to someone elses account.

I'm a n00b, but an honest one, and I'd love to purchase some MT Gox money for USD, ideally via PayPal at 1:1 (I'll pay any fees).

Looking for around $100 USD exchange, and willing to do so in smaller batches to establish credibility.

my email: bitcoin [at] fwota.com

Thanks in advance!

Hi

I wish to buy either MtGox USD or bitcoins directly. I wish to buy around 2000 USD worth of either MtGox USD or bitcoins.

Please email me as soon as possible, dont want to wait anymore.
I can pay in several ways, although I prefer Neteller since Ive got an account there and the fee "only" is 3,5%.

My email is: radgivarn@yahoo.se

We can do smaller transactions if you feel that is more comforting and gain each others trust.

*** Attention PayPal Users ***

If you wish to buy Bitcoins, you will find it is very difficult to do.

1. The documentation is poor.
2. The documentation is poor.
3. The documentation appears to misdirect users at every step.

Bitcoin, to new users, is a dark web of Bitcoin, Mt Gox, Dwolla, BitMarket.eu, et al, ad infinitum

It's impossible to purchase these 'mathematical tokens,' because none of the websites involved actually work, except the download of the client and the forums, and the mining signups/forums/downloads.

I've spent hours trying to buy a Bitcoin using USD, and I am willing to pay a huge premium, but instead this entire supply train only asks for my credentials. Nothing but private questions.

There is no product, it looks like a fifth column to every sovereign, and you can't even lie well on your twitter accounts.

Where's the rub?

I am completely confused, have lost no money, and am wondering WTF in spades.

Nobody wants Paypal because there has been a huge influx of scammers that reverse payment after receiving Bitcoins. Therefore, the best way to buy Bitcoins, if you are in the US, is...

open a Dwolla account
Verify your Bank account in Dwolla (takes a day or two)
Transfer funds from Bank Account to Dwolla (takes a couple days)
Open MtGox account
Transfer Dwolla funds to MtGox account (takes a couple days)
Place an order on the exchange

Edit: This is pretty much how hard it is to do any FOREX anyways (in some ways it is easier), so this isn't really unique to Bitcoin. Also, this is one of the problems Bitcoin hopes to solve.

I'd love to. But then another entity besides PayPal has my banking info (Dwolla). Additionally, why are there two (Dwolla + Mt Gox) middlemen?

The scam works in both directions equally, we must both admit. Whoever pays first is at risk. PayPal'ers can undo their transactions and screw over Bitcoin'ers, and vice versa.

When just signing up for the service itself quadruples the number of possible points of intrusion into my financial ecosystem, why?

And my single CPU is competing against server farms, how is this not just a psychology test to see how greed can overcome self-integrity?

I can prove to myself that Bitcoin will increase in value, but purchasing them requires me to surrender whatever good financial practices I already have in place. Gamble-me Gamble-you.

My point is that there sure are a lot of hurdles to overcome, and that anyone choosing to believe dark promises, or promote uncertain gains, must be familiar with the landscape.

Beware ye all who enter here- type stuff.

Banks aren't Bitcoin-friendly and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. MtGox and other exchangers would LOVE to hook right up to your Bank Account, accept Paypal, etc, but that's an impossibility right now. If the costs (financial & personal) associated with transferring money into Bitcoin are too great for you personally, then I guess it's just not for you. I'm just explaining the dynamics in play right now.

Would like to exchange $150 USD for BTC today, as soon as possible.  Problem is I loaded up a credit card with cash for a purchase prior to knowing that traditionally a bank account must be attached to Dwolla, etc. for a standard exchange.  Would appreciate some help to figure out what to do or send a payment for exchange.

Please PM with details or interest in assisting in this stat.  Will be back on in ~6-8 hrs to check in and make the trade.

From what I have read here, I'm definitely not the only person new to this whole bitcoin thing who doesn't understand why there are so many damn sites to deal with, firstly, and why none of them seem to work unless you happen to live in America.  Seriously, isn't the whole point of a digital currency for it to be independent of the country you live in?  It's kind of insane that I can find 5 or 6 reputable exchanges in the US that will take money from other bank transferring companies in the US (ie, dwolla.com -> mt.Gox -> bitcoin [ps - what the hell?  why so much damn work?]).  I can totally understand the point made above about how all of these steps involved in the transaction serve to exponentially decrease anonymity of one's personal details.

However, I really couldn't care less if some transfer company has my bank account information as long as it's been around for a long time and is trusted.  Honestly, you guys who live in the US and are complaining about how dwolla takes a day to register your account?  Stop whining, dammit.  As far as I can tell, the only method for me to get bitcoins short of mailing a money order to Mt. Gox is to use a networking site like bitcoin.local to meet someone in my city.  Sounded like an easy enough idea.  Unfortunately, when I looked at the map for my city of 3 million (Toronto), there were about 5 merchants in the city, two of whom had forgotten to include any contact information.

So... after spending several hours trying to figure out how to buy the damn things I'm having a lot of trouble understanding how they ever increase in value. and how anyone in Canada could get bitcoins without waiting 10 days.  The exchange rate on this thing is so ridiculous it could be 4x as much by the time my snail mail envelope arrives there.  That's totally unacceptable and unfair to Canadians.  Of course, I want to make it clear that I'm not actually complaining about any specific site here - just the entire concept of bitcoins.  I read about this "mining" thing too, which also is apparently worthless to the poor average citizen like me.  This whole virtual currency just looked so cool until I realized it seems to be some exclusive club for a bunch of dudes with server farms and US bank accounts.

Does ANYONE know a site that will take CDN bank transfer, such as interac email money transfer?  I would like to avoid WU and MG, as they cost over $20 and $10, respectively.  I find it extremely odd that Mt Gox has an Australian bank partner, an EU one, and no Canadian one.  Would anyone from Canada personally like to sell me around $100 of bitcoin with email money xfer?  I don't really have a problem using PayPal either, if anyone outside Canada will sell to me, but I would rather avoid it if possible because of its general lameness.

Someone please help!  I want to be a fun economics hipster!

Seems strange to moan that Bitcoin doesn't work when it is not Bitcoin that won't move.  Honestly, once you have some Bitcoins you will be able to compare how easily you can move them around compared to how hard it is to move your fiat currency around sufficiently to actually get the Bitcoins in the first place.  Why not ask yourself exactly what properties of Bitcoin make them so appealing, and why they are gaining value so quickly?

Seriously, the biggest advertisement for Bitcoins is how hard it is to get Bitcoins.

I am sitting here wanting to transfer from my UK bank account to Mt.Gox.  What happens when I press "international transfer" on the 24/7 online banking website?  "This service is available from 08:00 to 15:00 on working days".  Should I wish to move Bitcoins from Britcoin to Mt.Gox I will get no such insanity.

I did my first withdraw to Euro from Mt Gox about 10 days ago but I haven't received any money.
The transaction haven't gone through, so the money should be back on my Mt Gox account.
I have mailed to info@mtgox.com but I haven't received any answer.
Does anyone know what I should do? and is this common?

@yaka - I recently withdrew using IBAN/BIC ( rather than eu) and it took about 2 days... I'd say your situation definitely isn't normal.

The mtgox guy is active on these forums I think... if email doesn't work, you'll prob find someone to put you in touch.

Does anyone know what is up with Mt Gox lately?

I sent them a wire transfer 4 days ago and still haven't heard a thing from them about it.  I emailed their wire department email, and no responses.  I really wish it would show up in my account soon...

Hi,

I would like to buy $100 MTGox via PayPal.

I'm new here but I've been trading on Britcoin and my PayPal account is verified and has been up and running for years.

Would be happy to provide any other verification or do some smaller transactions (say $10 or $20 at a time) to establish my trustworthiness.

Please let me know by replying here or PM if you'd like to trade.

Good day to everybody,

I'd like to buy mtGox dollars (or BTC) for PayPal money, with small fee for person trading with me. Amounts can be big, and  trades can be repeatable.

I have old (almost 10 years) PP account, I am verified, I am willing to speak personally via phone or skype. I can also provide some other forms of verification. I am here for trading, not scamming. I'm going to be here for long time, and earn trust in steady way.

please PM me, if you are interested.

hello!

being a newcomer I understand that trusting me on reversible payment methods can be an issue (been a verified Paypal user for over 10 years as well as a Second Life verified user for 5 years!)

so in order to build some good reputation first I'm looking to get MtGox USD or BTC in exchange for SLL (Second Life Linden Dollars) with the following ratios:

you send me 100 MtGox USD / I send you 25800SLL
you send me 5 BTC / I send you 24800SLL

I'm open to trading other amounts, just make your offers Smiley

if you wish to trade at almost zero risk for both of us we could setup an appointment time to make the trade by subdividing the total amount to trade into micropayments so we both simultaneously pay and receive payments until reaching the agreed sums

keep in mind that subdividing the payments with SL,MtGox and Bitcoin has NO cost to any of us (SLL transfers inside Second Life are free just as well as MtGox USD transfers inside MtGox or BTC to BTC)

BTC payments are not immediate and this will delay the trade but both MtGox and Second Life transcations are immediate

please PM me if interested, I'm also open to talking over skype, thanks!

Will trade paypal gift (or cash in mail) in return for 1 or 2 bitcoins. Will buy at 20 USD for 1 BC.

Nice guy here, not gonna do anything sketchy with it. Just curious about the new currency.

I'm really curious to know why exactly this specific thread has gotten the attention of so many first-posters in the past few weeks.  Is it the same person under multiple proxies trying to scam people?  Or is there some prominent link somewhere that declares this thread to be the best way to exchange MTGOX USD for PayPal?  (if so, they are wrong)

It's linked from Mt. Gox under Add Funds -> Other:

This thread has people willing to sell you Mt Gox $ in various ways. If you post there I'm sure you can get a 1:1 exchange rate from paypal or something else.

hiya ricochet

yeah, agreed that being a first poster offering stuff to sell doesn't look to good

but as twobitcoins explained, at least in my case, I got to this forum following the MtGox link

I guess it'll take some time to build trust but I had to get started somehow Smiley

btw, does anyone have any experience with the Exchange Zone escrow service?

http://exchangezone.com/en/Welcome

you cannot trade MtGoxUSD or BTC directly but you can exchange Liberty Reserve, Paypal, Moneybookers, Moneygram and many others at no fee (only cost is seller's exchange profit)

the service seems legit albeit weird that they don't charge any fees (they say it's just for now, maybe they just want to build a larger user base)

any feedback, comments, experience with Exchange Zone? thanks!!

Seems that the cost of getting money out of bitcoin has gone up recently - MtGox seems to halted processing for the time being on PayPal / Dwolla, leaving only Liberty Reserve (are they still processing those withdrawals?)

What is a clear path from btc to USD now at a minimal rate via an automatic method?

Hi everyone

I just wanted to express my joy and thankfulness to the user: gusti
THANKS gusti!

He helped me to get into the system and now I am the proud owner of 150 bitcoins Smiley
It was really frustrating trying to get money into the system and at the same time see the course going up, up, up...
Anyways, thanks to gusti I now got my 150 bitcoins and I hereby confirm that HE KEEPS HIS WORD!!
I sent him 2 750 USD via Western Union, and when I sent him the receipt he sent my bitcoins straight away according to my instructions Smiley

I was kind of scared to send money without getting somekind of security, but after searching about him I found that he seemed to be ligit, and I can now confirm that he is! Smiley

If you need help to get into bitcoins, gusti is "your go-to-guy"!!

Great to be part of the bitcoin system!  Smiley

Hi all.

Looking to buy $500+ USD in bitcoins.

I can do paypal, USPS money order, western union...

OR trade you silver bullion rounds.

Paypal is the most complicated, least favored. Silver is most favored, money orders / western union is fast and secure, so let me know your preference.

This is my fist post on here, but I have 100% positive feedback on ebay (same username) and I've sold many ounces of silver bullion on there...

Not looking to get rich, but I'm really interested in supporting this currency, and doing anything I can to overthrow fiat currencies Cheesy

Please PM me and if possible link me to a post giving you a good reference. If you will trade for Silver I would like more than $500 USD worth.

You can also email me at (this username) @gmail.com .

Cheers!
