Yup. I'd just send her money through WU myself, but I don't have enough that I can dip into right now. Also, I'd probably need the transaction done tomorrow or the day after. Coordinating in different time zones sucks!

Where is she? perhaps it would be more convenient or cheaper in fees to find a bitcoiner near her, to receive your coins and help her exchange it into the FIAT she needs? Maybe you would find a bitcoiner who wants to sell bitcoin for the same FIAT she requires?

Provide a few more details and you might find something faster and cheaper than Western Union.

What continent?  Better yet, what city?

How much do you intend to send?

Does she (or anyone she knows personally) have access to a bank account where she is?

How fast does she need the money?

Thanks for your offers to help, everyone. Just came to say that this is all sorted out now. She ended up not needing my help anyway, so I guess Bitcoin doesn't get to come to the rescue today.
