I'd go with brazil to win, they are at home and its their main sport. Its hard to say with these events though as the teams can be made up of such random players.

Hard to tell how the tournament will end up. The teams are not those we are used to see, they have those age restrictions. And those who play, well I'm not sure if they take it serious enough because the new season starts in a few weeks. Nobody wants to get an injury there. Because it is so unpredictable, I'll pass on this one.

same situation when brazil play at home in last 2010 world cup , they have heavy lost 1-7 from germany in semifinal , will you still consider what team you will go in this olympic tournament? i will choose germany as my favorite to win this olympic.

germany and mexico have it pretty easy in their group. I would be shocked if someone besides those 2 teams got out of their group. May bet Mexico to win that group if the odds are right.

Who will win?
The odds:
Brazil 2 Argentina 6,50 Germany 8 Portugal 11 Colombia 17 Nigeria 20 Usa 20 Mexico 20 Denmark 20
Brazil plays at home ,and is obviously a favorite to win. Neymar did not play the copa america to play and win at the Olympics games.

I also think Brazil has upper hand for this event, it has edge so that when it has very good advantage of home ground, on other side Argentina also can give tough time into this event, European teams will face difficulty to perform as away.

yeaaa there is an age restrictions , the squad must be under 23 years old. but IOC (International Olympic Committee) rules dictate that only three players over 23 years old can be named to each squad in the men's Olympic football tournament. and brazil named neymar , douglas costa and Fernando Prass . i am sure brazil with neymar is unstoppable. easy pick for brazil.

argentina coach gerado martimo is resigns after argetina lost is cpa america batle is chilie same coach brazil carlos dunga after copa america is resign if containder gold medal is olympic 1 brazil 2 argentina 3 germany 4 portugal
iam choose brazil winer gold medal is olympic
though I am a supporter of brazil but I don't think Brazil has a chance of winning gold medal.because only Neyman can't give Brazil gold medal. And Argentina also hasn't chance of winning gold medal without messi. So,Germany & Portugal, yes they could win the gold medal but Portugal has the most chances of winning gold medal if Ronaldo is playing.

Halilovic who did play for Barca and Barca B and they just sold him to HSV. Also it is 11v11, and we are talking about players U23 not U20 which is a huge difference.

It's difficult to predict what will happen here because there is always a mixture of young players with a few senior players at the Olympic football.
I won't be betting very often on this tournament, there are too many unknowns.

My favorite on Olympic Games is Brazil and Argentina. In football will win one of this teams. I'm gonna bet on them. And what about Russia's team - in football they are losers, so who cares of them?!

Brazil seems to be the consensus favorite to win Gold going into the tournament for obvious reasons including home field throughout. They will be familiar with the weather and playing conditions and they will have overwhelming presence and support from their people. With that comes big pressure as their supporters will expect them to perform and take Gold. Argentina is next favored as they are next-door neighbors to Brazil and and will also have huge fan support in attendance as well as big pressure to do well. Germany is the third favorite. They have a very strong team and should easily advance to the Second Stage considering the other teams in their group. Portugal is another favorite. They are still riding high on their Euro 2016 Championship Title. So what do you guys think? See any juicy match ups/odds in the First Stage? Group A: Brazil Denmark Iraq South Africa Group B: Colombia Japan Nigeria Sweden Group C: Fiji Germany Korea Republic Mexico Group D: Algeria Argentina Honduras Portugal Match Schedule: http://www.fifa.com/mensolympic/matches/index.htmli think that either argentina or brazil will win this time, german team is also strong, but not as strong as brazil's one for example, but anything can happen

Exactly. All will come down to whoever is giving a shit about this Olympic games trophy and logically this should be Brazil because they have failed once already during the World Cup in 2014 at home so a double failure will not be very well accepted by the Brazilian nation and if I were to bet on the outright winner of this 'unexceptional' tournament it would be Brazil hands down. Oh and in the meantime I would be betting on underdogs every single match because you never know with a competition like this.

Olympics football is more difficult to predict that World Cup and Euro competition. Many of the strong countries don't take this competition seriously so it would not be surprising to get an underdog win this tournament. My prediction is for Columbia to win this as they are playing in the South America continent which is like a 'home' to them.

When will players rest? Portugal and Germany are playing matches until mid July. They didn't even have time to rest and new season will start 3 weeks later. Early qualification games are already started in CL and EL. Next week Olympics will start, fixture is too pressed.
i think we will see different players at here because for those who already play in Euro Cup they will not playing again in this tournament because usual after big tournaments they will get the holiday from their clubs and after their holiday ended they will be back to their own clubs and that's why my predictions we will see plenty unpredictable results at this tournament

I would like to go with the host country Brazil for this as they are a strong team and having home field advantage is a major contributing factor when it comes winning in the finals. The crowd, the noise and the way Brazilians celebrate will make it an event not for one to miss out on! Vengo Brazila!

I am done with typing, or rather following favorite team in football tournaments. It is very hard to predict a winner before even started. Look at recent huge tourneys, mainly Euro 2016 - bookmakers and gamblers alike typed France or Germany to win - instead Portugal won. Same with Copa America - Argentina losing final match caused great upset among bettors.

If the main team of brazil cant do anything on copa america , do you really think their olympic team which consists mostly on young players will be able to win the gold medal? It wont be possible, brazil has ended their era with their lame performance of the last copa america and they are having hard time in raising future stars currently, let alone olympic games
