Hey there people. I have made some coins doing offers and all for a month or so now. Looking to make more.

Post 5! Saw a previous post about buying btc at $10. I had the same problem. I had to join Dwalla, prove my identity, which I didn't like doing, then join MtGox.com who also wants proof of identity. I drew the line at sending a photo of my drivers license to an unknown to me, so I had to go through Dwalla which is at least a bank, then use bitInstant to send money and only trade in small quantities. I guess that's all I can afford anyway, but "Just how Safe is Mt. Gox?" There is way too much identity theft going on for me to want to send too much personal info anywhere!

Hi there

I discovered BitCoin last December when someone sneaked into a server I run in the US and started to mine LTC on it - the server slowed right down and so I had to clean it up.

I then began to read up about BTC - and WOW! this IS the biggest story ever - sometime real soon Crypto-Currencies must be the normal way to transfer funds from person to person and around countries.

I bought a bunch of BTC around a month ago and they've shot up in value around 400% since then - best investment I ever made - I plan to hold so I hope I'm right!

Being based mainly in the UK I notice that it's a pain to get GBP into BTC - however I have a EUR account in Germany and can fund BTC with that.

Great to be part of this amazing community!!

I would like to start off with,

Just watched Killing them softly from the Red Box, pretty dope.

Read about SR in Rolling Stones. Did a mental note bout BTCs. Was bullshitted by QT for months while the block chain never fully updated. Was planning on doing something about it, eventually. Currently own a few wallets. Mainly scouring the internet couchs and floors for the cheap. Will invest some hardly earn USDs shortly. Hopefully, one or two before they ask/bid at 100.

I hope for nights where strippers will have sweaty QR codes stamped on thier less viewed areas, I HOPE for days where the haggles with the guy on the struggle over transaction fees of new coins for his daily match with the dopeman are heard all thought the shady areas of the world. I HOPE, with all of you as witnesses, ONE DAY.. I can strike another person with a unarguable amount of BTCs, and without speaking, say: I Told You So.

I would like to end with,

They shoulda neva gave yall nerdles Bitcoins!
Im Get Bitcoins or Die Trying
and
PAY ME MY BITTTTCOOOOOIIINS! BOOOYYEE!

Philadelphia based developer who's really interested in bitcoin and building stuff around bitcoin.
I write a bunch of different stuff using several different web technologies, although I'm currently in love with node.js and JavaScript (after a long tumultuous relationship with the latter).

Check one two ...

Is this thing on?

I think this might my first, second or third post and I know all about starting new threads but just in case somebody is bored and wants to answer a question ....

Why did my Bitcoin-Qt v0.8.0-beta stop connecting through SOCKS 5 proxy last month? It always worked that way before while running the Tor browser concurrently. Then suddenly nothing. It ran un-Torrified just fine but I really like running it over Tor.

Did it have something to do with the bifurcation problem that requires switch over to v0.8.1-beta? Anyway, I installed the new client and am starting a brand new wallet which is now catching up on approximately 1100 days of transactions (I think). I'm starting a new wallet because the old one was empty, was not secured through Tor, and was perhaps the cause of my being able to connect to the Bitcoin network through Tor.

Also, Is Comcast possibly throttling Bitcoin traffic because it looks like Bittorrent?

I know how to use the search function so don't yell at me about that. Just answer if you're bored or otherwise inclined to help out a newb.
