Hi I'm fredtrader, been using bitcoin for a few weeks now and trolling these forums, finally decided to register.

Welcome!  You'll have to accrue some time on the forum and create a few posts to get out of newb prison.  This is to keep scammers from popping up again as a new personality..

Hope your experience is a good one -- it's up to you!

I'm hoping that although I'm late to the mining game, to get rich someday Smiley

can you guess my name? lol

Anyway, since I'm so new I cant post this question anywhere else but can someone tell me where I can mine litecoins on port 80? I use bitminter firewall friendly port 80 for bitcoin but I can't find anything for litecoin that will let me do the same.

Or does anyone know a litecoin pool that will let me mine on port 80 through the guiminer-scrypt? And can anyone tell me what the flags would be for changing to port 80?

Thanks, I'm generally more of a lurker than a poster but will consider changing my habits, especially since I want to be involved in bitcoin trading in some way, hence the username.

Hello, I'm prochobo.  I've been mining since July 2012 and bought some BTC in Feb 2013.  I'm currently mining litecoins right now, but BTC is my main crypto-currency.

William Fairaday here. I'm interested in bitcoin due to it's potential growth on the world stage, and I believe that we should seek to decentralize the finance structure throughout the world and allow economies to flow more freely. I've been watching this realm for a while, but haven't had much experience. Any advice or insight would be awesome. Thanks.

Hi I'm protokol, I'm a long time lurker on the forums and and have been interested in Bitcoin ever since I heard of it about a year ago (through that well known site accessible with TOR). I think the idea of a decentralized cryptocurrency is just awesome, and feel we're on the cusp of a revolution...

I am currently waiting for the stuff to arrive to build a mining rig (primarily for Litecoin, holy shit have you seen the price!!!) and am hoping to get some tips and advice, been reading tacotime's post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=163306.0 and basically wanna big the guy up for writing such a simple guide to building a first rig.

PEACE!  Smiley

Hello, I've been a miner (BTC and LTC) for a couple of years and a lurker here for nearly as long. I have been a fan of alternate non-state currencies for ages, and was drawn to crypto currency like a slightly inebriated moth to flame. I believe we're at the dawn of something tremendous, and just feel lucky to be a tiny part of it.

We are lucky to be a part of it.  You are lucky to have had the know how to mine it!

Welcome to the forums.   I hope you are using a cold wallet and not sending your btc to anyone on trust?

Thanks, and +1 for the Bug Eyed Earl avatar.

Cold wallet for most coins, blockchain.info wallet for day to day transactions. Works well.

Hi there. I am a working machine and I heard of Bitcoin a few years ago but didn´t took it serious. But a few weeks ago somehow the idea of digital money came up again and i looked around the internet and Bitcoin crossed my way. I read this Forum and startet an experiment with mining Bitcoin in a pool. Now i think its the time to get an "active user of this board" in order to exchange thoughts bout Bitcoin with other people.

I mined some bitcoins a couple years ago, but have no recollection of the password. Sad SOOoooo over the weekend, I put together a branch of the bitcoin source to rapidly check passwords against the cryptographic hash of a given wallet. I've made it open source on GitHub, think there's any interest for something like it?

Hi, I'm ToWS. I've signed up because I have an observation about the current problems at Paytunia, Bitcoin-Central, Instawallet which I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere. Ah well, patience is, they assure us, a virtue.
