Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I`m no happy to be a newbie. I think this is not a solution against spam.

I agree, there is an anti-spam technique known as CAPTCHA, although that doesn't stop the human-generated spam or the trolls.

Hi I've been on the forums lurking and taking in information for around a month and a half. I have several ideas I would like to pitch to the Bitcoin community regarding website ideas and business ideas. I look forward to throwing these ideas around with other community members in the near future. Currently I have one website near completion and another website still in the initial thought-development phase.

Bitcoin is a remarkable opportunity and I am happy to take part in it and contribute to intelligent discussion where I can!

don't be so negative, the 50-post-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy
Yowzers! 50 posts!  I've been involved w/ the bitcoin for about a month now.  I'm really enjoying the project and admiring its resilience to the forces of outside haters.

I am McFly, and no, I have not heard the band. I am a 3 week miner and possible entrepreneur when I get out of the n00b sub-forum. I will be testing the waters on trading cigars for BTC. If interested, PM me. I have many fine, aged premium hand-rolled cigars avail. for trade. Of course, I will need some way to verify the age of the trader. VIVA BTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: I just now joined the forum, but have been lurking for the 3 weeks I have been mining.

The only thing I'm hating is the blinding green font you're using. I couldn't even force myself to finish reading the rest of your post because I was getting dizzy. :p

Hello everyone. I came across Online mining just yesterday and since then I have been trying to learn everything that I can about mining Online.
I have downloaded BitCoin's "wallet" and GUIMiner. After reading lots of tutorials, watching videos on youtube, and reading over the help page, I am stuck. I would like to mine with a pool, slush's.

I'm looking to get into mining and I will buy whatever hardware that is needed.
Please provide me with help and support.
xJared
