Hi all! I just started mining last month. Manage to setup a few rigs and I'm looking forward to getting involved in the community improving the mining software that's out there.

Discovered the concept of Bitcoin about a month or so ago, kind of like the idea, so I'm experimenting with it. It's just an experiment to me for now, so I'm not going to be investing too heavily into it (yet). Currently playing around with Bitcoin and Litecoin mining and have spent quite a bit of time reading technical info and this forum since the whole thing is a fascinating concept. Now that I've decided that I'm going to want to join in on some discussions here sooner or later, I've gone ahead and registered. Smiley

Hello bitcoin community,

I have been in stealthmode for quite awhile reading and learning and quite a bit of ROTFLMAO reading this forum so figured it's about time to take it to the next level and actually participate.
I'm not very social gregarious but I have been tweaking GPU's in the BOINC world for awhile so when I discovered Bitcoin last spring I found myself on familiar ground. It's kind of exciting to be a part of this revolutionary new (dare I say paradigm shift? nope, too early yet for that, but it's just way cool!)
I have noticed at least 1 person from my old BOINC team here (Hi Patrick!)
OK, guess that's enough for into, now we'll see if I can come up with anything else to say

Hello Bitcointalk,

This is a new account, but I've been lurking occasionally for about 3/4 of a year.

I'm interested in the future development of both bitcoin and namecoin. The technology looks very promising. One of the reasons I'm here is to keep my eye out for potential ways to become involved in the community.

My use of bitcoin includes some purchases and a small amount of mining. I also have a few items listed for sale at Bitmit. That was my affiliate link. Here is a link to my storefront.

see you around,

Hey, everybody.  The Heir here.
I'm a college student in the US with a passing interest in crypto, so having seen BitCoin around on various anonymous websites got me interested.  I started mining yesterday-- and got my first payout, of about .015 BTC--and I'm using a 30 MH/s GPU, the NVidia GEForce GTX 560 M.  (Yes, I'm mining on a laptop in a dorm room.  Let the chiding roll in, please.)
Inasmuch as I'm not really interested in the currency aspect of BitCoin yet-- as it has no practical applications in the immediate future, as I have enough capital to survive, as I don't have a good way to get BitCoin-- I'm primarily mining to assist with the project as a whole, to throw in my processing power behind some interesting philosophical ideas, and to help use up some passive cycles on my processor.
Hope to see you around,
The Heir

Mine only does about 50–65% of that, so feel free to redirect the chiding to me.  Cheesy

Finally registered after lurking for a month! I'm fairly new to bitcoins, wishing I had started earlier.

Currently doing about 620mh/s with a 6970 and 6770, going to build a few machines with the goal to pay for the rigs themselves.

I'm apparently WAY behind you other newbies.  I just read the FAQ and Wiki today.  My head hurts, but I'm here to learn . . .

The biggest BOTTLENECK™ at the moment is the lack of official thin client. This client should fetch the data from miners, one gigabyte doesn't have to reside on every user's HDD (if the user explicitly doesn't want it to stay).

Hello all,

I've spent about a month of long nights building up and optimizing a 6 GH/s cluster.  Feels great to have a bit of free time again, maybe now I'll have time to participate in the forum.
