Interested.  What is the ETA, and will there be a white paper on this?

I am giving this update without having read the thread.
Your feedback is valuable and I promise to read it before posting again.

Update: March 24
Thanks for taking the time to read this info;
Something important needs to be clear at the start:

Post-Alpha: TimeCoins will be an independent project/payment system that provides value to the users.
During the Genesis Stages: TimeCoins are also part of something much bigger.

  • ~3 years before the birth of BTC, I began working on a large number of web projects as a challenging hobby.
  • Deadlines and launch dates were not a priority, since I love to learn and go in a hundred different directions.
  • Time-based currency, along with BTC can be a major part of an exciting adventure called "The Time of Your Life" (or perhaps another name)

Here is a quick outline of just one simple example:
1) You receive a good size chunk of free TimeCoins in our pending massive giveaway.
2) Hoarding and disappearing is allowed, but many of the biggest giveaways are bounties, so some moderate level of community participation is guaranteed.
3) When you spend coin or compete for rewards during "The Time of Your Life", it is a type of vote telling me/us which of over 100 projects you are interested in.
4) This also helps to solve the "chicken or the egg" problem*.
*Chicken or the egg = Which comes first?
You start a great new service: Why would the buyers use it if there is a lack of good sellers/free-lancers/microworkers,etc & what attracts the sellers if there are not many buyers?

So we will/can have a group of people profiting from being early adopters in many projects, not just one.
ps. There is plenty of room for CEO's, future billionaires and multimillionaires, since I'm a fan of the Richard Branson (Virgin, Inc) model of semi-independent entrepreneurial subsidiaries.
For example, if Virgin Music does well the Chief Executive is rich even if Virgin Airlines is having bad times. ~(Source = a TV interview of Richard Branson)

  • Does the above info "scare you away" or increase your interest in this exciting project?

Sounds very interesting. Do you have a list of the projects?

Well I for one am now skeptical simply because of the fact that the OP put in the thread title "FEEDBACK WANTED" so we give feedback and then wait 2 days for him/her to respond only to say that they are responding "without having read the thread" and just give more of a sales pitch.  What kind of BS is that? lol

...
Will we be able to mine them like other cryptocurrencies?

No, much more fair* and accessible to ordinary people.
That is the most complete answer I can give right now.
*BTC is fair in it's own wonderful way.

"Once-In-A-Lifetime chance to buy coins for ~ 1/3 of a USA penny"
......

I'm getting negative feedback for marketing.
I deserve some of the negative feedback, and I'm sorry.
Genuine passion and enthusiasm cannot be easily stopped, once new ideas are made clear.
Clear communication is not always easy; Does anyone know how to do a Vulcan Mind Meld so you can download all my ideas?

This (below) is not marketing they are historical facts:*
*Not many people (?) bought huge amounts at these prices, since you could still get them free with cpu mining.
People were once able to buy BTC as low as 1/3 to 1/2 a penny each, so let's say (for example) $0.004
  • If you invested just $5,000 / gave away half / kept the rest, and sold at $60 how much did you make?

Unless I'm mistaken, the answer is ~$37.5 Million USD before transaction fees.
The idea is to create an as fair as possible way to allow at least some people a chance to have a similar return.
Just like BTC, the useful product/service/currency needs to have real value, so it is sustainable and not a Ponzi scheme.

...
Will these be pre-mined? If so, how many?

Well let's get some help with the numbers, please:
Time is money.
What you call mining is 'ticking'.

1a) Start with the unix time-stamp and divide by 60 (one Timecoin/minute), and the number is way too high (more than 21 Million)
1b) My OP mentioned creation of new coins for over 3 more years, since I'd adjusted the numbers/ideas a bit and was working with 1/minute and ~92% already exist.

2) Start with the unix time-stamp and divide by 3600 (one Timecoin/hour), and the number is very low (too low for an epic Genesis Block Party) and the creation of new coins takes at least 2,000 years.**
**Unless I made an error calculating

So one question is how many should exist at the start?
Another would be 1/hour seems to add value (through scarcity) but who has 2,000 to watch the project grow?
1/minute cheapens the units, and the whole idea is to capture the value of time.

Any thoughts?

Based on the above info, would you decide to spend a minute or two accepting free Timecoins and possibly consider competing for huge project bounties?
Yes i would.

Well sounds like your 'time is money' is just marketing gimmick, instead of premint all money supply and be done with it like ripple does, you would continuously mint 1 coin per minute and give it to yourself, and then ask us about whether this triviality should be done per minute or per hour? LOL. Could you actually talk about how your system is supposed to be unique instead, like how it's supposed to be decentralized and not needing any proof-of-work?  Wink

Yeah for some reason I feel even less informed than when this post thread first appeared lol

Can you please explain it to me as if you were talking to an idiot? Because I sure the heck to not understand how your system works. And I'm not trying to be an ass about this but the way you are going about explaining it is very strange to me.

http://timekoin.com  Huh

The last time I checked it there was still a major flaw. 1 node means 1 vote. 51% nodes decide which node gets new coins. I myself could virtualize
like 100 nodes. BOTnet master could have 10k+ nodes easily and takeover coin generation completely.

and this is exactly in the Satoshi paper already, I don't know why people try it anyway.

I will try again to give a clear snapshot of the big picture, thanks for asking.

...
Can you please explain it to me as if you were talking to an idiot?...

The Big Picture

1) Vital Related info, not specifically about this project:
a) Most of you are used to (or conditioned) to things being done a certain way, and every other notable alt project has been a clone.
b) If something truly new comes along the obvious conclusion is scam, or it cannot work because of ____
c) People who seek out creative new ideas, start trends, are the ones who not only make money, but get to enjoy the satisfaction of not following the crowd.

2) Time Based Currency
a) TIME IS MONEY.
b) The Time Based Currency which I'm proposing is a concept which is not completed.
c) People who are involved early can help change the course of time, or at least radically alter the outcome of this project.

Flame away all you want; ASAP I will provide more details to those who are still interested.

........................................
ps. Regarding my last post...
Here is a new idea: Past, Present, and Future

Past: 1/3 of the coins already exist
Present: 1/3 created during the Genesis Tick
Future 1/3 created for ~43.25 more years
