My bitcoins are gone, can you help me?

Hi,

This is what has happend to me:

1) I bought my first bitcoins on 2016-05-09 08:34:46 because I was curious about how it works and wanted to start use them and keep them as an investment.

2) There was a jungle of bitcoin wallets. I had no clue where to start. I googled and tried my best to choose a wallet. After several attempts that did not work I found a wallet called bcoiner wallet: www.bcoiner.com https://www.bcoiner.com/en/ and it worked fine. I could log in to see my bitcoins through a web based application.

3) All of a sudden, I couldn't log in to my bcoiner wallet. I thought that I had forgot my password and didn't think more about it for a couple of days. Then I tried again and I really knew that I had not forgot my password. I tried and I tried and everytime I tried and failed I had a suspicious text string sent back to me "There has been an error, please try again or contact us info @ bcoiner dot com" which obviously gave me the creeps.

4) After several attempts to contact the bcoiner wallet with, hardly suprising, no response I contacted the intermidiary company Safello, that I bought my bitcoins through. They told me that the bitcoins has been transfered from my wallet on the 2016-07-06 16:41:58. And now I was sure something not okay has happend to my bitcoins

Now: I am not interested in any comments telling me that I've been naive, that I should be more careful etc - trust me, the amount of money that I have probably lost, is a lesson far enough for me. I am interested in anyone who can help me to find a way to get my bitcoins back. So if you do have any idea on how to do it or something that can help me, please reply.

Did you ever get access to your account again?

That is the strange part to me.. They take the time to respond that your funds have been transfered, but it looks like they didn't help you get back into your account..

I'm afraid you are completely dependent on how they will handle. They don't have a reputation on this forum that you could use to get your coins back.

once you send a bitcoin transaction there is no way to get it back  and bitcoins in any address need private key to access.
You should have used block chain info wallet.

Oh sorry, I might have wrote something confusing in the text. But the bitcoin wallet, bcoiner, have never responded to me. I knew nowhere or noone to contact about this so I contacted the company that I bought my bitcoins through, www.safello.com to see if they knew anything that I could do - and that is the only part that has answered me.

Imagine if this were the case for every transaction between bank accounts for "normal" money? Imagine every time someone sends the money to the wrong account? Imagine if there was no way to recorrect the error? This is really not good for the future of bitcoins in my opinion.

Well... Bitcoin is basically a decentral database containing every transaction ever made. In order to generate a transaction, you need the private keys from the address containing a bitcoin balance (inputs).
What you basically did is: you gave an online, probably anonymous, company your private keys to manage your adresses.
It would have been a better idear to manage your own addresses by running a local wallet (bitcoin core, electrum, multibit HD,...).
Because the online company manages your private keys, they're the only ones that can solve this problem. This forum has dozens of complaints against various online wallets... Sometimes they turn scam, sometimes they go bancrupt, sometimes they have a bug,... There's not a hell of a lot we can do to solve this i'm afraid.
About what you should do: it's basically up to you... If it was a lot of money, and you can find real contact or company details, you might go to the police. If it wasn't a lot of money, or there's little identifying information, there might be little you can do.

This is how bitcoin is made: there's no central authority, no bank, no governement,... Just a public database that can be downloaded by anyone. So there is nobody to refund or rollback any transaction. This is one of the reasons most bitcoin users like bitcoins, but i do understand it must be frustrating to lose a lot of money.

Thanks for good and well explaining answer. I feel deeply sorry for the people that will do the same mistake as I've done, because I am sure it will happen more of it in the future is nothing is changed. I think every bitcoin transactioner site, such as www.safello.com really should inform the buyers what to do and what can happen.

I do also see the positive aspects of the no authority thing with bitcoins, but unfortunately I do also se the huge drawbacks with this.

If the coins like you say in your first post OP have been transferred from that weird wallet you were using (first time I hear about bcoiner wallet) there is absolutely nothing you can do even if you go to the police. The traces of your coins can easily be removed by mixing the coins and getting them from an address from the mixing service which doesn't leave any trace (in fact it needs a lot of money from FBI to have some chances to find it to whom they belong). The coins therefore go to a new address which has nothing to do with the transferred funds from your wallet and it will look like 1 normal transaction.

What you need to do is to take merelcoin advice and immediately install Electrum or Multibit HD, which are wallets that contains a seed and with that seed you can use them in as many computers as you like. Also you are holding your private keys in your computer with these wallets so you really need a very clean PC before installing any of them. Sorry for your loss and hope this helps you start a new and more secure journey on the bitcoin.

You can not get your bitcoins back, bitcoin transactions are irreversible.

The best you can do is contact the customer service to see how they can be of help.

Next time you want an online wallet go to blockchain.info and click on generate address.

Paper wallets are the safest, you can get your bitcoin address on bitaddress.org (just drag your mouse all over the screen till you see 100%, then click on generate paper wallet, indicate the number of addresses you want, print them out or write out the address(es) AND KEEP in a very safe place).

You will see two addresses per paper generated, one is called the public key (the address you present to people for payment).
The other is called the private key (the address you keep to yourself and use to make payments. Note: This is like your password/PIN. Any one who has access to your private key can spend your money, so be careful with it).

The only thing you can do now is make sure that you have learnt not to trust online wallets, if you wish to store large amounts of bitcoins never store them online, make sure you are the only one with the private key.

Ah, I understand it now. Safello had the transaction details (and you as well as you know to what address the coins were sent) and could tell you what happened to your coins after they were deposited on the online wallet.

The moving of the coins is not neccesarily a red flag. It could be moving the coins to a single cold storage wallet that is safer for the company.

What you are telling about not responding etc however, does indicate that there is a huge chance that the website scammed you.

In the future, please take matters into your own hands. There are very easy to use wallets such as electrum or multibit which allow you te setup your own storage in minutes. If you buy larger amounts in the future, I recommend a hardware wallet like the trezor for ultimate security.

you should request to safello to gives you the txid of the transaction so you can be sure where your bitcoin were sent
but the problem is bcoiner.com, by looking into their login page i feel so doubtful about this website,i could say a super simple login form for an online wallet site, so you need to contact bcoiner's customer support immediately

the worst thing,probably bcoiner is a website specialized for this kind of scamming,but can't say that to be honest,not enough proof

Hopefully you can get some info as to the address your coins were transferred to, and the reason why.
I'm not familiar with this bcoiner website. When they asked you to set up your account, did you set a password? How many characters was it?
I'm wondering if a simple password on this site could be brute-forced.

I feel like some of these sites/ wallets need to do a better job explaining to set up a long complex password.
I guarantee most people using these services are not using a very secure password.

Is there anyone doesn't know blockchain wallet ? I think you were in a rash and you made a mistake because you didn't come here and asked about the best wallet to use .

never heard of that company in my entire life and that's not a good sign. maybe your only chance of finding out anything is to google the bitcoin addresses involved and see where else they turn up.

alot of people get careless and the addresses used may link to other addresses that match to a profile on here for instance. i dunno how that would help you get your coins back but it could link some type of id to it.

you could post an address up here and maybe some amateur sleuths might come up with a result.

You should only use trusted wallets, like Electrum, BitGo, blockchain.info, or if you really want, Coinbase. Never use an untrusted wallet.

Yeah... I had a look at that bcoiners "website"... OMG... how did you manage to find that? and then trust that over the likes of Blockchain.info, Xapo, Coinbase, Electrum, Mycelium, Multibit, Bitcoin Core etc?

It looks like it was put together in about 5 minutes by someone who doesn't really understand PHP, CSS or webdesign in general... There is pretty much NO contact details and before you posted the link in this thread, I'd never even seen or heard about it...

How did googling "Bitcoin Wallet" (which I assume you did when you were wading through the jungle of wallets in step 2.) even lead you there? I had to click to Page 5 of google search results before I found that... Page 5!!?! 

Anyway, I do hope you didn't lose too much money in this, and no doubt you have learned a valuable (if expensive) lesson... and hopefully your story can act as a warning to others:

DO NOT TRUST WEB WALLETS THAT DO NOT GIVE YOU PRIVATE KEYS

They effectively "own" your bitcoins and if they steal them, lock your account, disappear overnight etc... your bitcoins are GONE... get a proper wallet (desktop, mobile, paper, hardware etc) and be careful with your bitcoins!

No. He shouldn't. What happens when blockchain.info steals 'loses' those coins? Again they'd at the mercy of some other company that just doesn't care. Go for a decentralized wallet. I prefer mycelium for Android. There are lots of other great options where you own your own private keys. No stupid 'usernames' or 'passwords' (unless you want to set up a password). Electrum is a good option if you use a pc.

After a quick Google search, I can NOT find any reputable review for bcoiner.com. Assume that your coins are now owned by someone else.

Next time, use Blockhain's wallet service. https://blockchain.info/wallet/
Also keep track of your password since there is no way to recover your password on Blockchain's wallet since the wallet itself is encrypted on your computer and not on their server.
