Hey guys, you ever heard about this X11 Baikal Mini Miner? I saw it online but there's no much information about it. Can it mine ethereum? Did someone already tested it? Thank you.

But if it can mine those other algos??? i dont think it will be long before we see the asic come come to market.. The Baikal appears to be legit, quite a few reports of them "in the wild" around.
It does NOT mine ETH/ETC, it is for X11 (and possibly some of the other X13/15/etc type stuff I forget offhand on those - but I don't think it supports NON-X type algorythms).

 With *3* different companies all comming to market making X11 miners within about a 2 month period though, it's VERY iffy if any of them will ever achieve ROI on any X11-based coin (DASH is about the only one with significant market presence).

 In theory, the manufacturer will sell *1* unit to an individual at $450ish + shipping, but I've never found a link anywhere to actually DO that.


 There are *ZERO* reputable reports of any ETH/ETC ASIC miner - and every one I've ever seen a posting about was an OBVIOUS scam to date.
 Given the very short timeframe involved before ETH (and probably ETC?) moves to POS and ends all mining, I doubt that even a LEGIT ASIC would ever make back what you had to pay for it.


 Given some of the extravagent claims made, I have some serious doubts about how legitimate that asciminermarket site is.

"asciminer" does NOT make the Baikal miner - at best, they might be a dealer selling it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're legit - the hash rate and power consumption is certainly possible.  But the price makes it irrelevant, you would never get a return and unlike a GPU you'd end up with a dead piece of hardware if anything ever happened with Ethereum (PoS anyone)...

I wonder if these really are ASIC's or if they're FPGA's... They look like the older FPGA's setups that everyone was using back in the day, and I wouldn't think the market would be big enough to tape out and produce any custom silicon.

I have been using this to mine new coins like deep onion and it has been profitable. It’s hobby mining for fun so don’t think you’ll get rich quick off this but still it is nice to have to play around with and to learn about cryptocurrency. Dash has become too difficult to mine but you can mine a little and flip it for another one.
