Bitcoin.com had a chance to discuss some topics with the Liberland president Vít Jedlička concerning the many topics the micronation faces, the citizens use of Bitcoin and goals the group has for Liberland’s future.

The Free Republic of Liberland is a self-proclaimed micronation founded in April 13, 2015. The proclamation of the state’s independence was initiated by the Czech libertarian political activist, Vít Jedlička.

Highly irrelevant news from big-block activist Roger Ver's press organ Bitcoin.com. While Liberland may show a theoretical possibility to found a new state, its practical relevance remains close to zero, because no other state will recognize it since it doesn't have any significant power or history.

While it's nice to see Micronations use Bitcoin as well, these entities do not add credibility to Bitcoin as a currency. Instead they might even damage Bitcoins reputation, because people might transfer the childish image of "playing king" to Bitcoin.

After looking into the "Constitution" of Liberland I also doubt that this form of state if successfully operating will result in a more liberal form of government than most existing nation states. It's basically a modified version of existing law concepts that - albeit introduced with good intentions - failed to establish any lasting insurance against human right violations.

Exactly. It might seem interesting because it is a "country" that is making Bitcoin part of it's economy, but the truth is chances are a majority of people around the world earn more than that country's GDP. The fact of the matter is, this Liberland really means nothing because it has no influence, no real economy, and next to no population. If they were to expand and actually have something going for them, I could consider giving it a bit more of a thought, but I'll just ignore this for now.

just to sort out some of the details.
the "country" is only 7km2 and cannot actually physically house what the founder says as:
Quote
My goal from an early age was to bring more Liberty to this planet through opening up people’s minds. Today we have almost half million people interested in living in a truly free country. I would like that number to rise to a couple of million next year.

to put it into prospective liberland wants to (in the founders quote) become more densely populated than Macau s.a.r

Macau S.A.R. population: 453,125 square miles:6 population density per square mile: 73,350

instead i believe its real utility is mainly to be used as a shell company hub and tax haven. thus avoiding certain things by having personal trusts, businesses, etc set up from this "country"
this wont make people have immunity while travelling around the world in any way. (you can still get arrested in america for american crimes while your in america even if a citizen of liberland)
but will atleast secure "businesses" and "personal property" left on the land of liberland, as long as international law treaties signed by liberland are not created.

well, don't judge too early. who knows what will happen to that country by accepting bitcoin as it's part of economy? at least the country are promoting bitcoin in the other side, right?

so what makes you say people might transfer the childish image of "playing king" to Bitcoin?

I would be surprised if on the teritory is now any infrastructure, if I remember there was basically none when this hoax started. To me Liberland looks rather like an unrealistic dream than future mikro nation like Monaco.

there is no infrustructure right now
here is liberland(on the left of the river)

here it is from the opposite angle with (on the right of the river)

as the OP links suggest the 'founder' is setting up some offices internationally (to garner support and publicize it) but.. no buildings or internet or any basic electricity/gas/drainage exists on liberland itself
.. but its a "new country" things need to be built. which is why i feel the concept would be more for tax havens and shell companies to start up there initially. rather then a place for residents.
the benefit of not having any infrastructure to start with is that, not having existing companies to deal with gives liberland the freedom to start however they like.
