I have a pc I don't use with a nvidia 8600gt, and I wanted to try bitcoin mining with it.

Does someone has a simple tutorial to mine with this kind of card using CUDA or could guide me to some readings about it?

Thanks.

PS. I would like to use Linux for it so I wont have to reformat the hdd.
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

That card produces around 5 Mhas/second, which means that, if you leave it running 24/7, you will earn 0.1 bitcoins per month ($0.5 at current prices).

You will obviously lose money because of electricity
