My friend replies to my email from 2.5 years ago

I introduced a close friend of mine to bitcoin in august of 2010. He followed up with me just an hour ago. Now I think I am the fool for not hoarding a massive amount of coins.

This is fantastic. I feel like some of my friends will feel this way in a few years. I blogged about Bitcoin recently when it was at $34. Trying to convince people about its value is like trying to explain email before the Internet is adopted. It'll happen, I think. It'll just take a while.

I know people far smarter and more technically/financially savvy than me who knew about bitcoin before I did, and they also hemmed and hawed at the thought of investing any real fiat into it.

I was the only one "naive" enough to sink any real time and money into it, and it payed off.

My only gripe is that everyone writes me off as begin "lucky", but even in hind sight, it made perfect logical sense to me when I did my due diligence on learning about what bitcoin was and how it worked.

I also knew that something this revolutionary only comes around a handful of times in ones lifetime, and for once, I was in a position to participate, but then again so were many other people who didn't bother.

I suggested BTC to a friend two years ago.  He lost money in the downturn, and all but accused me of roping him into what he had started regarding as a ponzi scheme.  (And, probably cashed out at a loss instead of holding on to any coins?) And, now that btc takes off, he still didn't acknowledge anything. Instead, he now writes to me suggesting that I wasn't /altogether/ wrong, that I simply timed things wrong, that I was merely "ahead of time."

Man, it's like setting some one on a date. You are the one that gets the blame when..

Same here. Only one of my friends who I got in touch with about Bitcoin back then got involved with Bitcoin. The rest have either ignored me or directly accused me in pushing a ponzi or some other scam on them. None of those have apologized yet or admitted that they were wrong. The one who listened and started mining right away is doing rather well... as you can imagine.

Not really. I like to think I have a decent stash, but couldn't hold onto 3k coins. Joke is on me - I saw the future perfectly, and didn't get filthy rich.

There is a lot of upside to Litecoin.  It will likely never be as big as BTC, but it has it's advantages.
