Altcoins are accepted. It would depend on the lender which ones he would accept.

This is used when a user has immediate need for money but doesn't want to sell the altcoins he has. He asks for a loan, gives his altcoins as collateral. Pays it back, and then he gets his altcoins in return.

What is considered collateral?

Collateral is something that can easily be resold to cover the loan value plus interest should the loaner default on the loan.

- The best collateral is another crypto-currency, such as Litecoin (also written as LTC).  Coins must be moderately traded on multiple exchanges.
- Some digital wares such as domain names can be considered as long as the user cannot recover it.
- Small valuable items that can be shipped though the mail - i.e. gold, silver, iphones, etc.
- Large items, such as a motorcycle or guitar can be used if you live close to the person giving you the loan.  Try localbitcoins.com
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0

This simply doesn't make sense. You would sell your Litecoins much faster than it would take to negotiate the terms of a loan, without the overhead that the lender would demand as a safety margin. And you wouldn't have to pay the interest on the borrowed funds at that. If you ask me, I don't see any rational reason why would a borrower use a liquid altcoin like Litecoin as a collateral. If only to raise his trust level and strengthen his credit history.

I don't really think it's about credit history. Here's some possible reason some could view it as:

A common question is why don't I just sell my collateral? Well the reasoning behind collateral is that you think it's going to appreciate in price or do not want to sell it, encouraging you to pay back the loan to have your collateral returned.

Though there might only be a few who actually uses altcoins for collateral. Most I see are forum accounts, which is really risky for lenders.

Which is why I think loans aren't really much of an avenue for investments.

This whole point of using altcoins as a possible collateral seems to be strained at best and far-fetched at worst with forced arguments at that. It is not enough that you as a borrower might think that the altcoin in question would grow in price, you should also convince the lender in that. If you somehow succeed, the lender would be willingly and wittingly selling you bitcoins for that altcoin and then buying them back at a loss. Why would he want that?

What? No, not selling. That is collateral. Which is usually held in escrow.

The borrower shows proofs to the lender that he has the altcoins
The lender checks the current value of said coins
They agree on terms
The control of the coins is transferred to the escrow and
The loaned amount is released to the borrower
When the loan is paid by the borrower, the escrow releases the altcoin back to the borrower.

If however, the loan is not repaid, then the escrow releases the altcoins to the lender.

@OP sorry if we are getting off-topic.
Now, my suggestion for casino bankrolls. I would go for casino sites that do not have too big of a bankroll yet.
Going for moderate bankrolls could possibly give one bigger chunks of the profits as there would be fewer investors to divide it among. (Especially when compared to sites with huge bankrolls and thousands of investors.)

I know that lending is not selling, but the effect is basically the same as what I described in my post.

And instead of explaining how you are going to convince the lender that the altcoin you are going to offer as a collateral is likely to increase in price and why he would want to accept it if you succeed at that, you are trying to explain inconsequential details which are not relevant. There is a logical inconsistency in using altcoins as a collateral if they are expected to rise in price. That's why I come to think that the example of altcoins as collateral is invented, not a real one.

But actually lenders will get a doubt to accept altcoins as collateral since it has high possibilities that the coin you think to risen up will sudden die, and its so risky for them if that would be happen since they will lose their money and might their business will be ruined if that scenario will occur and theres a altcoin collateral left in their hands. But in other hand some of lenders accepting it if the coin they make as collateral is xmr coin wich goes up and stable coins at these day.

Don't you think that all BTC casinos are just a freud?

Of course not. Most of them have a provably fair system for verifying the rolls and the top ones are all trusted. Their casino bankroll investment schemes are also legitimate as far as the top casinos are concerned and they are a good investment to allow your coins to grow, passively. Though it is not recommended for panicky investors and only considered as profitable as a long term investment.
there may be some gambling sites that manipulate their provably fair or house edge them in order to attract the players, or make the house has the possibility of winning is greater, and therefore look for a trusted gambling sites is prefer
maybe this could be the basis for you to invest in a gambling site, look for a trusted gambling sites and then you can invest in it, wait a few months then you can get satisfactory results

You should not be loaning of you gambling or investing. What will the point of that be ? You will pay more of it back then you will make so it is counter productive. If you are loaning bitcoins to gamble then you have a problem and should get help. Noone loans money for an investment that's just silly.

You did not understand the OP's post at all.

1.Gambling at casinos - complete loss
2.Investing in casino bankroll - profitable in the long run, passive earning

What this thread is about is point number 2 and not point number 1

We all know that gambling at a casino is a sure loss if you keep gambling. Instead investing in the casino bankroll, you can get a share of the house edge every time someone wins or loses. It is a good source of passive income.

What about losing from investing in casino bankroll? There re several casinos where people have won big time and this money comes from investor bankrolls. So be careful there, there is a change of losing money. Also, there is a change of investor running away with your money as well.

From my point of view, there are  two most important things that can make you invest in a casino :

- You must trust the owner. Not only talking about the fact that he can steal your money. He will get an access to EVERYTHING He can steal the investor's money by creating a random account and playing with it(he knows the seed).  For example, winning 0.5 btc a day and you will never notice it. Even if he is an investor, it is still EV+ for him.
- only 1 person should have an access to the server seed. Just a logic thing : more people = more risk. And if there are several admins and many of them have an access to the server seed, as to me, it's just because they don't trust each other.
And this is a huge problem.

Hopefully, there are some great owners like Dean, dooglus etc.

My 2 cents,

Investing in a good casino is not at all a bad idea, in the long run you will make profit. when folks lose their coins, you'll make profits.

Doog and I used to talk about a system that was provably fair not only for players but for investors. The ideas we came up with were similar but would have taken a lot of effort and only mitigated the risk, not destroy it completely.

I think there is already some reviews about investing in gambling casino some of the gambling site can give a good profit like in betking according to the review that i saw in gambling section. so it is depends what gambling site you are investing..

My 2 cents,
Doog and I used to talk about a system that was provably fair not only for players but for investors. The ideas we came up with were similar but would have taken a lot of effort and only mitigated the risk, not destroy it completely.

What kind of system? Can you tell us more (roughly at least) ? I am very interested in that.

I think it is not good to invest in casino which is good only if ypu have more money to waste in playing casino that is why casino is only for people who have more money or rich people.
Investing in a good casino is not at all a bad idea, in the long run you will make profit. when folks lose their coins, you'll make profits.
I think there is already some reviews about investing in gambling casino some of the gambling site can give a good profit like in betking according to the review that i saw in gambling section. so it is depends what gambling site you are investing..

That is right.. I have invested to betking as well.. although not that big but I just let it keep invested there and never even logging in to my account.. I'll it there for a year before I'll check it back again and see if it grows or it wrecks.. fingers cross Smiley

Atleast you earn some profits even if that is so little and i think that is quite decent since other are scam like hyips who offered high ROI, and i think just log on your account frequently so your account will not be mark as inactive and can be a caused for account deactivation, and also im try to looking up for investing at them and maybe i will calculate first so thing will.work smoothly at my side

If you have also some other spare money you can still add some amount to your investment with betking. Or while waiting for your investment with betking, you can also try to invest for some other casino's if you want to and you see that your investment is effective with betking. That's good to consider that you are prone to getting more profit with casino's through investing.
