Hello, I recently have bought Antminer just to test how it is working.

Well, the biggest issue is the noise coming from the fan. The temp. of the Antminer is around 60C

degrees which is very good, however, i am unable to do

things in my room since it is very noisy. here is the screen shot:

https://1drv.ms/i/s!AgwOmJrQRbdLhyX_B_6bqZn9FA0i

All the information is there, i have 2 fans installed, the one is very loud, the second is very quite.

I went on youtube to search how to reduce noise, but at the same time keep the temp relatively low,

so that Antminer does not beep! I found one video with comments, and found the fan model:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TANw6DeIy0

Silent Jet Fan PWM AAB

Well, I am not sure if this fan is the one i have to buy, but i could not find it for sale anyway,

i searched this specific model all over? So i bought just 2 fans Silent jet 12 (800 RPM) and 37 CFM.

when i installed them, the temp went even to 90C , miner started to beep and beep???

So my question is which fans do you recommend to buy to reduce the noise but keep the temp around

60C? If i install 2 fans, what should be their RPM and CFM Huh

Would it work alike for all Antminers : S5, S7. S9 Huh

Thanks in advance...

which miner are you specifically running?  The fans you are quoting are very slow and very low cfm.   Maybe on an s3 but nothing much higher.

Underclock it (turn down the hashing freq) so it doesn't work as hard and the temps don't go as high. Buy some quiet 120x38mm fans not standard 120mm fans. You need a high cfm rating and a decent static pressure rating on the new fans.

Underclocking is pretty much best option if you want quiet on S5.  S5's really ran hot and loud in my opinion, but I would keep them in a mining area if you have one vs in a room you use for other things.    Other option is look at some of the sound proof type materials people have used to build different types of boxes to put in.  But with 1 miner it is not really cost effective.

The high CFM fan is a big thing if you use quiet fan's a lot lose CFM's compared to standard which is a issue with head, specifically for some during summer.  So underclock I think is best option just make sure to run some ROI calculators if you are paying electricity.

The fans with CFM 37 it does not work, even if i lower frequency to 100, it is still beeping and temp raising to 80C, and besides it does not pay to run it at this low frequency, like i said this

Antminer just for the test, since i am planning to place more Miners and add more hash power...

So I need to know what is the minimum CMF should what fans are quite and have a good CMF to keep Miner at around 60C , which fans do you recommend?

The stock fan at 40% fan speed. You can't have high CFM and no noise... especially if you want low temps too. If you want to spend 100$ on fans for a crappy ASIC, you could get some high performance noctuas which still wont be quiet, but will have slightly better noise/CFM ratio and let you run the miner relatively quieter at high temps.

S5 works with Noctua as an intake fan and Scythe Ultrakaze as an output fan
Much less loud, but will cost a bit of $$, which probably defeats the purpose.

EDIT: Here are few of the relevant threads:

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just came here to laugh.

Antminers are loud, I've tried making them less-loud. It's not going to happen.

Don't switch the stock fans.

Down clock the freq and set fan on manual about 40 %.

I forgot what the stock number freq is for the s-5.

But if it is 350. Go to 200 with a fan on 40%

Let us know what happens.

Fan substitutes are not the answer

Well, i checked the original fan which came with this miner, it has 3 pins, even though on the settings i can reduce it to 40%, and i tied to change to 200 freq and 40% , the same noise level, i even measured with Db level noise app it on my android tablet it showed around 65 db, just to mension all those diffent apps show diffent noise level, not sure which on is correct app? On this video this guy shows 43db noise level with those new fans "Silent Jet Fan PWM AAB", so if someone can tell me where can i buy these fans for the future reference....

don't buy the fans.  Go to Home Depot buy 10 inch flex duct and stick the miner into it. Or go back to nov 2015 on my post and find all my sound proof threads.

They involve down clock and duct work .  Flex duct at Home Depot is cheap it will help.

And buy a real sound meter not an app in an iPhone.

I sound. Like an asshole but you are try to reinvent the wheel bro .

give me time and I will find sound proof threads.  there are more threads then this but I am tired of looking

I have 885 pages of posts takes time.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1188217.0

most of us got good results with ducting and allowing air in original fans to flow pretty fast say 30 to 45 %

basically that duct can do 3 miners cut eight foot pieces

keep the psu out side psu V

air in >>                              V

other method

3feet duct                              4 feet duct out flow >>>>

Also, just remembered another issue, maybe it does not belong in this post, but anyway how many miners one can run in regular apartment in one room? Verses

warehouse... I was told that sometimes electricity does not let you run more then 2 miners in the the same room? How to check it? Can one connect 4 miners to

one power supply, or at least use one power supply for 2 miners, maybe this way you can run more miners in the same room???

2 s-5's will run on 1 usa apartment circuit

1 s-7 will run on 1 usa apartment circuit

other method open door lets air out  and mover blanket lowers noise

in all my cases air flows on the fans  or the gear gets hot
