Thanks for the heads up - because of your post I was able to grab one of the 8GB models, although the others were all sold out.  Wink

Unfortunately it's already out of stock. What is that amateurism ? They had a lot of time to prepare stocks Angry ! Anyway, I said that I'll get an NVidia card for my next setup so I'll stick to this plan.

I picked up one of these also to check out, and it's still in stock:

Unfortunately NewEgg only allows one per customer.  Wink

If you just want to mine the Ethereum, 470 could be a good choice as it has simlar memory bandwidth to the 480.

I read somewhere that it basically performs the same as the 480, assuming you get the 8GB, where the memory is clocked higher than the 4GB.  I figured I would buy one of each so I could see if that was the case or not...

Basically none of the RX470/RX480 combos are perfectly ideal.

REF RX480 4GB - Cheapest, fastest speed (25MH/s)  memory is actually 8GB but ABSOLUTELY NO STOCK.
REF RX480 8GB - Fastest Speed (25MH/s) but only 6 pin and might melt PCIe slot and annoying loud.
Aftermarket Rx480 8GB - Fast speed (25MH/s), 8 pin, quiet but CRAZY EXPENSIVE
Aftermarket Rx470 4GB - Slow speed (21MH/s) and expensive but quiet
Aftermarket RX470 8GB - Fast Speed (25MH/s) but crazy expensive but quiet

Might as well keep my Tahiti's card and just dual mine for a while rather than upgrade. Dual mining is free, no need to buy anything and in the end its efficiency is about 7W/MHS (after SIA is converted back to ETH) rather than going thru all this trouble to get 5W/MHS.
