According to whattomine - yes, ETH is most profitable.
However there are a lot of shitcoins which are more profitable, but not listet.
However the risk there is very high.

Nvidias are usually best at Equihash due to their higher core clock speed.
So you can test profitability with +150 core clock on some equihash with any 3GB 1060,
regardless of it's memory brand or clock speed.


Or you can search for some totally unknown coin with some great tech or idea and
a active team of devs and start mining regardless of the current profit.
After all, a coin's price is not the price at which you mine, but the price at whitch you sell.


Or instead investing in GPUs, research, set up time and electricity bills, you can buy
some popular coin. Then HODL it for a year and sell.

Anyone here with AORUS GTX 1060s (not the xtreme edition), rev. 2.0 to compare SN?
If I'm right, 18064 is Hynix and 18034 is Micron.

I found a way to force P0 state for 1060.
It may not be new, but so far I was not able to set it using any other tools, even nVidia smi.

It's called nvidia Inspector and this feature is present only in the latest versions:

(I used it 6 months ago and these options were not present!)

Open it, go to "Common settings"  and change "Force P2 state" from ON to OFF

Then change Performance  from Optimal to Maximum.

If your system is stable, it will pull another 0.5-1.5Mh/s per 1060, regardless of the memory type.

This was the only way to pull 20.6Mh/s from Hynix card (was getting 19.5 before that).

i have 8*MSI p106-100 6GB (The P106-100 is based on the Nvidia GP106 GPUGeForce GTX 1060)  which using Hynix RAM  Sad  as default hash rate was 20Mh for ETH ,   then  i have try many times to overclock and stable hash rate are 22 for each CARD with this MSI afterburner ...
Memory clock: 192

if  i increase Memory clock  for example to 300 or 400 hash rate will increase to 23-24  ...  after few minute mining will be crashed...
but

any body know how i can increase the hash rate ?

Sorry to hear that.
I have Gigabyte Aorus. After i flashed their BIOS-es, from +700, the stabile mem clock went to +180, but the hashrate remained the same. The only thing you can try is my post above, so you can squeeze another Mh/s and also overclock the GPU core to +150 which will undervolt them and save on electric bill.

you have to find the stable overclocking settings for your card, I mean if + 300mhz cause hangs to your cards, try to set 250-280Mh, that will give the boost. Also, at attention which card denies working on high clocks and cause the hang. maybe 7 of your cards capable to run +300 and only ine can run +200... so just setup all cards individually

It depends on what you're mining.
To begin with, click the gear wheel icon (settings)
and check "Unlock Voltage Monitoring"
and uncheck "Syncronize similar GPUs"

Now overclocking
For Etherium:

Power Limit: from 55% to 75% - 55 for energy (cost) and less heat (noise), 75 for full crop.
Core: +150Mhz (notice the voltage and temp drop!)
Memory: +180 as a start.

If you get 24-25Mh/s with these settings, then you've maxed it out.
For Hynix memory usually absolute max is 22.

If you get less, start bumping +100Mhz on Mem clock every 10 minutes.
when it crashes, reboot and use the last stable mem clock.

Repeat the same for each card.

Numbers are approximate,
depending on the make and luck:

RX470 - 115W- 26Mhs = 0.22mh/W
Rx480 - 130W - 29Mhs = 0.22
RX570 - 115W - 29mhs = 0.25
Rx580 - 130W - 30mhs = 0.23
Vega56 -200w - 37mhs = 0.18
Vega64 - 220W - 40mhs = 0.18

1060 -   80W - 24mhs = 0.30
1070 -   110w- 30mhs = 0.27
1070Ti - 130W - 31mhs = 0.23

Great to see some real data. I've done the same calculations but i'm sharing relevant statistics based on actual experience (i've owned the GPUs i've listed below):

RX 470 - 110W - 27 MH = 0.245
RX 480 - 120W - 28 MH = 0.233

1050TI - 65W - 14.5 MH = 0.223
1060 - 95W - 23.5 MH = 0.247
1060 - 120W - 30.5 MH = 0.25

So really, the 1070 is the real winner. Other GPUs i also have but haven't listed because they probably have no business mining ETH at all anyway.

i have two GTX 1060 6gb. One desktop and one laptop.

gigabyte GTX 1060 6gb with hynix mem is doing just 18,7mh/s for ETH. settings are -200 +440 (MSI afterburner)
MSI gtx 1060 6gb for laptop with samsung memory 24,7mh/s for ETH. Settings (rock solid) -200 +850 (MSI afterburner)

I have a card NVIDIA gtx 1060 3GB on the ETH gives 19 .I have only one  1060 3GB I prefer mine on her new altcoins because it makes no sense mine the ETH on one NVIDIA gtx 1060 3GB. This is my personal opinion.

Typo I guess, it makes sense if it should be 1070 at 120W with 30.5 MH

I get 23.5 in average my 9x1060 with micron at 75W, so 1060 with Samsung would score high in the MH/W scale every day.

But 1080ti will have a decent resale value for longer (but 3x cost for 2x hashrate and close to 3x power??)...

220 watts could be a as low as 140w for some peoples settings I think.    I've never seen 220w, maybe you meant the entire machine not just the card.   Doesnt seem like a level comparison if the figures are off that much, the AMD cards out of the box will probably use this much power.  I'd agree with that but also AMD can modded alot to perform at much lower watts, nothing even that drastic but most cards will consume far closer to 150w or even less.  
Just thought I'd mention it, theres a reason why vega is popular at that high price still.  Also depends on memory maker on the card possibly
