People (no matter how well known they are) can say whatever they want. Realistically, the price will even struggle to touch the $1000 price level in 2017, let alone stay above it for longer than a few weeks. So no, it will not happen.

I do not know if he was a big influence on bitcoin, or every word he had always true?
I often see some famous account predictions about high prices. but it seems I'm not too sure we will touch $2,000 within the next few months. but I hope it's true

Kim has made money off of technical work in the past, however I do not believe that he's right about his prediction here. I personally think he's off by a year or two. The "lightning" network he's proposing would definitely make Bitcoin something that could be used within daily life and make Bitcoin quick enough that it would rival literally every form of money movement on Earth, but if he does it even slightly wrong then it could all fail. There are a lot of variables and a lot of things that could go wrong from a greed perspective, so I would be cautious about this one.

Anybody anywhere can make a prediction but most times will hold various factors constant but that's where they always get it wring that those factors can never be held constant thereby their prediction failing from reality. However, it will be a too news for me if it comes to reality but what web should ask ourselves is that can we play own part in the theory?... My 2 cents...

2000$ within next year will be hard i think even big news on bitcoin related products can't make that huge pump. However i think if kim success to launch his highly waited cloud mining service combined with bitcoin/blockchain than surely it can have good 30%+ effect on bitcoin price.

there is already another topic about this but essentially yeah, it is possible. especially with this new Bitcache wallet in megaupload i think there will be a lot of attention to bitcoin which can cause another spike in bitcoin price or at the very least cause a big rise.

There is still very long left to reach in 2017, about bitcoin nobody can make prediction what will be happen into next month, even I am also pretty sure price will be above $1000 but how much it will be, I don't know about this.

thinking about $2000 to happen in 2017 is wishful thinking. especially while we are still below the $1000 price level. i think it's better to reach $1000 first before speculating about anything higher than that. high expectations only result in disappointment.
