And I'm certain it would be possible with a titanium efficient PSU.

No - it would not be

I can definitely see power draw from the wall at around 900w, and less.

You will not get 900W from wall hashing with 6 RX 480 with rate of 180MHs

i'll prove you wrong in a few months when I have 5 more RX480  Grin

I have a rig = 6 X Sapphires 480s on 1300w EVGA-G2 drawing about 1150-1200watts total at stock roms.

I recently applied Heliox lowpower 29Mhs rom with Crimson 16.9.1, and it should be below 1000w (fingers crossed, since this was my intention by using the mod roms - objective to achieve sub-1000w)

I will take a reading from a kill-o-watt meter to be sure.

What MOBO are you running them on? I have been trying to run 5 to 6 cards on a single board but keep getting "not able to start device" on my 5th cards onward. On my 4th card everything works fine.

ASrock H81 Pro BTC
Celeron 1840, 8GB RAM, 120SSD
Win10, AMD 16.9.1, 1300w EVGA.
Ensure molex power connector is plugged on in this mobo.
Also for multi GPU, ensure to use the powered risers
I am using Claymore ETH dual miner, mining ETH only.
Ensure 16GB minimum windows virtual memory.
Heliox ROM mod, 29MhLowPower ROM, 29.7MHs per GPU.
6 x Sapphire RX 480 8GB
Running solid more than 2 weeks.
Previous stock settings, 24.5MHs per GPU.
Win10 should be able to see all your cards - all 6 of them.
But if you cant and see a error 43 on the last card, search for the 6GPU Mod utility and run it as administrator.
See link: https://lbr.id.lv/6xgpu_mod/6xGPU_mod.html

Hi guys thank you for your hard work.

I got 6 Rx480 doing good with 25M/s each average using genoil 1.1.6

I decided to go with the custom roms ( RX480-32MhOTB )
First i update to the last drivers 16.9.2, then i flashed all one by one... reinitialised wattman settings
Then i finnaly started to mine... at the begining it was awesome 30-31 M/s.... and then going down down actually downer than without custom rom and used more W at the plug 960 W... for 23-24 M/s

before updating custom bios i was at 25M/s for 850 W

so i go back to my backup one for now...

If anyone got advice or already got this problem ?

tryed with claymore and -ethi 16... start everything at 31M/s but then go to 24-23 M/s.....

thank you for reading

Try the 31mh low power BIOS. IMO it's the best trade off of power usage and hashrate. Though, TBH, I'm actually using my own BIOS now as it's reduced power usage even more on my solitary 480.

Maybe check temperature/cooling, the clock goes down when you reach the limit.

thank you guys for your fast answers :-)

@Walrusbonzo => yeah i will try this one and check how much power from the wall
@lexele => Thank you so much lol i can't believe i didnt thought about this lol omg.... of course so obvious!!!! i m so lame lol thank you again :-)

Ok now 187 M/s but for 1285 W... lol ok i will go to the low power one :-)

7 Rigs by 6x480 Red Devil each rig 870W at the wall with CM v1000 psu, working stable for almost a week(6*29.7mh=~178mh). If i try to make personal settings for each card i will probabaly kill another 50-80W per rig but i'm too lazy for that.

Here two of them:

Nice!!! I knew it would be possible. What is the full spec of these rigs?

Also, just for reference, what is the GPU power draw for these cards according to GPUz or MSI AB?

EDIT: I've seen you have added an image with GPUz, thanks! Smiley Super low VDDC is the way forward for low power usage.

What is your full system spec? What have you got VDDC set to on your GFX cards? What does GPU only power draw show in GPUz or MSI AB?

Cheers

Couple of posts with challenging provoking statements - and we are there: 180MHs at <900W Smiley

Great job!

I second the question on rig specs, especially cards infor (memory type, ASIC quality)

If possible settings for mods or ROM

assuming that this wattTool is not part of Wattman?

Can this WattTool reduce -mV like AfterBurner?

Can you confirm it is from the wall for the whole system. It is not calculated or estimated from the GPUZ.

I have 2 x rig with 6 RX 480
No1 hashing 181.5-182 MH/s the whole system is pulling 870-890 Watts at the wall
No2 hashing 178-178.5 MH/s the whole system is pulling 870 watts at the wall
