Russian athletes have been banned from competing in next month’s Paralympic Games.

In marked contrast to the International Olympic Committee’s decision to allow Russia to take part in Rio despite evidence of widespread systematic doping across all sports, Paralympic chief Sir Philip Craven issued a blanket ban.

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) did what their Olympic counterpart did not have the courage to do and kicked all Russians out in the wake of a report which revealed staggering levels of corruption and collusion of government ministers and secret police agents.

What do you think the decision to ban Russian athletes from the Rio 2016 Olympics is about?

Makes perfect sense why allow them to participate when Doping has been a huge issue in Russia.  You need to play fair or dont play at all.

This is probably the political ambitions of power forced the athletes themselves to shame. After all, today the policy, such as if it is above the Russian government and with the help of performance-enhancing drugs they wanted to prove. It's a shame and something that the Russian team was disqualified, it is correct.

It may have been backed by some political BS to poke Russia. I feel like the USA is intentionally trying to pick a fight with Russia.
