No, definitely not. Faucets are an annoyance. They pay only extremely small amounts that are barely usable. They are not providing any meaningful service, just pure stupidity.

You already know the solution. Since you are a programmer, why don't you offer your skills in the service section of this forum. Make a nice post that describes your skill set and the kind of project you like to work on. Be open to suggestions, allow escrow and regularly update your thread. This way I'm pretty sure you'll find an opportunity. If you don't find a suitable job here, you may try it in the ordinary fiat world and buy Bitcoin with the fiat you've earned.

Just creating a faucet isn`t enough.You have to promote it and drive traffic.

There are hundreds of other faucets online.There is a huge competition.

you will get only dust amounts of bitcoins from those so i doubt it is such a good decision, i would just go with altcoin trading to make money

To make any amounts of relevant returns from micro investing you would need massive luck. So put 0.01 on all those random shitcoins and maybe one of them pumps 1000%.

I heard that bitcoin casinos are very popular now as the way for micro investment. There are tans of bitcoin casinos now on the net. So you invest in casino's bank, and as it well known that people mostly loose in casinos. So the profit to micro investors are kinda guaranteed.

Bitcoin is under 600 $ in last weeks, bitcoin struggle to pass that and I think that is good investment now to buy bitcoins and do nothing next 6 months. After halving everyone expected price to jump, but from last year price is x 3, price was aroun 200 $ when I joined. Many experienced people here said that halving will not bring price rise, cause price is already high. I read forum carefully and I expect price to go up only before the end of the year.
This situation with bitfinex is slowed us down, but we will recover and in price will go up. Like I said we can not expect nothing before october, november, in that period we will see how price is going up. Like it was last year.
