How to set up a node

This guide will assist you in compiling a headless client (the daemon) in Ubuntu Linux. This is a necessary step if you wish to set up a node of your altcoin. It is assumed that you are starting on a fresh Ubuntu (14.04 x64) installation.

Remember to use sudo in front of all commands if you’re not logged in as root.

It is case sensitive.

Set up a swapfile if your system has less than 1.5GB of memory:
fallocate -l 2G
/swapfile chown root:root
/swapfile chmod 0600
/swapfile mkswap
/swapfile swapon /swapfile

If fallocate doesn’t work, you can use

dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=1024 count=1024288

Initialize swapfile automatically on boot nano /etc/fstab

Pull the source code from github, or upload it yourself:

Compile leveldb:

cd /Shilling-master/src/leveldb make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a

Return to source directory, and compile the daemon:

cd /Shilling-master/src make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=1 USE_QRCODE=1 USE_UPNP=1

Strip the file to make it smaller, then relocate it:
strip Shillingd
cp Shillingd /usr/bin

Now run the daemon:

Shillingd

It will return an error, telling you to set up config file in a directory. Now we’ll set up the config file. Note that this is case sensitive.

nano ~/.Shilling/Shilling.conf

Add the following, save and exit:
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=(username)
rpcpassword=(strong password)

Run Shillingd once more and if you did everything correctly, your daemon is now online!

Type Shillingd help for a full list of commands available.

I wrote somewhere about this theory quite a while back. I believe this to be true also. I think they take wallets offline to save on resources and to list different coins. But I don't think they just offline them with no reason. I think they have a very VERY small timeout window and in that window give very few retry attempts. I watched them online a coin that was offline for like 5 months, documented block vs time as it synced to network and when it got stuck on a block it sat there for about 5 minutes before it was back in maint mode for around 12 hrs before they attempted to sync again which it did. then of course went back into main 2 weeks later and has been ever since. Yobit plays by the rules but they ride the line right on the edge.

SH continues to have its wallet under "Wallet status: Maintenance" on Yobit. The wallet works fine at Nova Exchange plus if you are interested in buying some coins as investment they are selling as low as 20sats, which is awesome since Yobit SH ranges in the 150-200.

There is no premine.  Yobit has stranded about 100k+ of the coins on its exchange. Nova Exchange has an orderbook of 318,417 coins. This is still in the beginning stages… The Dev continues to promote the coin.

Use Nova instead unless we attempt to list SH on Cryptopia.. I don't think yobit will ever get that wallet working again. I consider yobit totally useless with bad interface to analyze the numbers. SH could be a great coin if we go to the next step with it

Instant exchange has to involve both the fiat of the sender's country and the fiat of the receiver's company, and would involve aml laws and registering as a money broker etc. A few big entrepreneurs who were completely honest and above board got attacked by various governments on the grounds of not having created adequate paper when they formed their company.

i have a bunch of those in my emails, people with all forms of promises. kenyan banks consider bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency a threat and some have even greatly distanced themselves with the idea of a local cryto bank link up

The coin still does not have a clear purpose aside from being a clone of a lot of other clones without a purpose.

The key point about national cryptos is that they should be distributed largely to those in their respective nations. Having a currency that says it is from x country but almost none of the holders are in that country is weak.

Most national cryptos have focused on short term profits for miners rather than long term use in a specific area.

Is there some way to identify citizens of Kenya for example? Is there a unique identifier equivalent to social security number in the U.S.? If so you could hardcode a certain amount into addresses for each citizen then have the accounts require some sort of proof before they are available. Airdrops don't work usually, and this would take a lot of work and planning but it's possible.

You should clarify exactly your situation though so the coin has a better chance of credibility. Are you the person who coded the wallets or did you hire somebody? Or did somebody approach you and ask you to front for the coin? What are your tech skills and your exact nationality? Or are you a dual national from Kenya now elsewhere?

The issue with fiat is that it creates lemmings who need a leader to determine their actions and come up with ideas. It stifles individuals because everybody is afraid to step into new territory unless they have followers in back or a king in front.

This coin has no premine and a long block halving so he didn't pay himself under the table for the work he's done, like most devs.

Why should the dev of a nonpremined no ico coin be responsible for anything other than the free work he or she has done? If you are making money by sparechanging on a streetcorner and somebody gives you a dollar do they owe you breakfast too?

not trying to be snarky. It looks like an honestly made coin which, by itself, puts it ahead of most coins. The old national coins, fiat, were backed by guns so you had no choice. National cryptos are a sort of transitional idea that instead of guns use consensus and the work of independant individuals. Honestly I have no hidden coins and av never benefited in any way from shilling, any little coin profit av ever got from the exchanges have been pushed back into bill settlement of shilling's several servers. Tho av had to dig into my own salary (ow! i also never mentioned to you guys i also work, Am a Clark. Haha! sounds weird for those who say they doubt my citizenship, Kenyan by birth and currently living  in Nairobi) to keep the servers running and am super proud of it.
Did make my first Shilling presentation at Ihub Kenya https://ihub.co.ke/ back in October 2016 but it was a major flop, it did come clear to me Shilling was too complex for the African market unless I simplified it. It was greatly perceived as a pyramid scheme and almost all financial institutions distanced themselves with it.
Weird fact is, bitcoins current bullish move has significantly forced curiosity of similar projects mostly African rooted hence helping us ride on its success. Lately av been getting all manner of phone calls, emails and facebook offers on several topics regarding shilling as a coin.

Shilling coin core v1.16.4 network is running well though most of the notary (mining) community is not receiving rewards for there payment processing fee as it should be, am here to assure them not to be alarmed and feel conned.
The reason coursing this hold of funds is due to our comply of segwit activation. We have been activating segwit currently at "status": "locked_in" and its a slow unavoidable precess. We beg for your patience during this times but still insist that funds mined or transfered within the network during this period are safe and can only be accessible once process shifts from "LOCKED IN" to "ACTIVE"
