Would like to be whitelisted please Smiley

Only found out about Bitcoin recently, but after being sceptical and thinking about countless potential flaws (which I discussed on #bitcoin and #bitcoin-dev and got properly debunked), I got extremely excited about it. This system has obvious benefits and huge potential. It's exactly NOT what banks and governments want. Which is good.

I'm very concerned with security and privacy, and I'd like to think I have a deep technical understanding about these subjects. Which is also why I trust in the whole blockchain + signature + ever changing addresses construction of Bitcoin. I understand how this is absolutely decentralized, why it is extremely secure, and reasonably anonymous (not perfect, but then again you can't really have both).

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Hello,

I'd like a whitelist. I'm the customer support and marketing director for Kronos.io - a new service providing margin trading for Bitcoin.

Hopefully I'll be able to post to the rest of the forums soon!

Thanks in advance,

-Jon

Yo, I have been working with BTC for quite a while (around 6 months). I invest into BTC stocks on GLBSE and my friend DeaDTerra has introduced me onto this forums. He has quite a few posts and is well known on here.

Could you get him to vouch for you directly, either by posting in this thread or PMing me?

I would like to request to be whitelisted as I would like to be able to post in the marketplace section. I have just registered a username but I have been browsing these forums for a few months. This site is an excellent resource for information about bitcoin in general. I would consider myself proficient in many aspects of bitcoin and how it functions as a P2P currency. I have browsed the newbie forum to find some posts that I could reply to just so I could be promoted but this was really the only thread that I feel I could post in without posting worthless contributions in hopes of being promoted. The following is what I believe I understand about bitcoin in hopes that it will prove that I understand enough about it to be promoted:

Bitcoin is considered to be a cryptocurrency as it is based on public key encryption. The Bitcoin address is public string that can be distributed to anyone without fear of the bitcoins assigned to that address being spent by the parties it is distributed to. The private key is stored in the bitcoin wallet (wallet.dat) and must be kept private (duh) as knowing the private key is what allows the bitcoins assigned to the corresponding address to be spent. The address can be determined by the private key but obviously the private key cannot be determined by the address (aside from brute force which is impractical in this case). To my understanding bitcoin utilizes elliptic curve encryption for this which I discovered when I tried to build the client from source on a machine with Fedora OS. Which needless to say was a pain because apparently the people over at Red Hat believe that elliptic curve encryption is patented or something that prohibits them from including it in their OS. So after days fooling with static linking of the OpenSSL library, I eventually gave up and built it successfully in Ubuntu in about 15 minutes. From my nightmarish time attempting to build the client from source I have a pretty thorough understanding of the bitcoind client and its dependencies (which I won't bother listing but I have unfortunately memorized them).

I hope this is enough to prove that I have above newbie level knowledge of bitcoin. I would go into further detail but I don't want to bore whoever is reading this more than I have already. I am not new to Bitcoin or this forum. I simply now have a reason to post and unfortunately it must be done outside of the newbie forum.

I hope you will consider my request. I have been reading this forums for quite sometime and now I feel I would like to contribute to the bitcoin community.

Hey,

I'd like to request to be back in the forums.

Much appreciated, you can see thru my posts and threads I'm not a spammer. I've purchased products in the marketplace as well, you can ask the sellers for a recommendation.
Currently the admin of xtremeroot.net community and worked on vBulletin development (with vb's parent company Internet Brands, LLC), familiar with forums and rules

Thanks

Yankee
I'd just like to get out of this shihouse !!!!!!

Oh WOW, I spent so long on that BOOK, it timed out and LOST IT!

EDIT: It said "You aren't allowed to post replies to your thead" or something, then poof!

The main reason I want to be out is I want to be the one to post a link thread, as per the new rules.

To sum up, I said how Mom raised me right and taught me:

1. "If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing"
2. "Kill them with Kindness"

And Poppa, he said, (And this might ring a bell  about some goings on... and on... and on...)
"THEY ARENT SMART ENOUGH to be HONEST!" (Yeah, Poppa yelled Smiley

Seriously, I've been lurking since around a bit since OCCUPY and since I built a miner 8 weeks ago, A LOT, and I ran it at bitminter until a couple weeks ago and instead of using GPUMAX after figuring it out, I'm building out 3 VPS's and will offer free space to devs and charities (I never use them all up and have done this at whatever community I was involved with at the time) In fact, I met Ouazo (sp... close) today and I think he's going to take some on server 1.

Thanks, gotta run! (I'll dang sure copy/paste this condensed version this time tho!)

EDIT: Btw, I am @ BTCE all day and have traded with abbeytim, I have 4 kinds of cryptocoins at 4 different exchanges (MtGox, btce, BitFloor, and Intersango (*abbeytim said I could use his name)

Dear moderators,

Can you please whitelist me for posting on this forum outside of the newbie section?

Justification: I am a Bitcoinica customer currently stuck in the claims process and have a need to be able to respond to the relevant thread:

Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Bitcoin Discussion > [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=81045.0

See my related posts here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=81639.0

Hi bitcointalk mods!

I'm in the same boat as ninjarobot - a long time lurker with a few coins on board of RMS Titanic (aka Bitcoinica).

Whitelist would be greatly appreciated so I can join in the finger pointing game.

Thanks

Hello, I would certainly appreciate being whitelisted. I have been following this forums over twitter for a while and recently saw someone looking for a 20BTC loan. After looking through all this history (long time poster) and talking with him I decided to load him the coin. He asked me to reply to his post with my return address but I couldn't:( I have a solid understanding of BTC. as I'm Canadian i've purchased a number of coins via cavirtex...  I also enjoy a good game of seals with clubs I LOVE BITCOIN! Thanks:)

I would very much like to be whitelisted rather than posting randomly until I meet the requirements. I have been reading posts on this forum and mining bitcoins with two 5830s for over a year now but never felt the need to post anything until now. I have been trading quite regularly on cavirtex.com and decided to build an android app that displays data from cavirtex. I would like to release it on this forum first so I can get feedback.  Thanks

Hey now, I'm not new to bitcoins but new to this forum. It's pretty awesome that this forum even exists. I'm no scammer and would love to sell some bitcoins through people on here. I've been ripped off so many times and this seems like a pretty good way to use coins Smiley Let me post

If it is in your power to release me from this purgatory, I humbly request admittance into the forum at large.

I heard about bitcoins a few years back, and I've slowly been trying to read up as much on it as much as my comprehension and free time will permit. It's a very exciting prospect to have this new cryptocurrency around. Very curious to see what lies down this path, and curious to see what bitcoin could portend with respect to the world's governments, financial institutions, and other power structures. Online, I have been following /r/bitcoin as well as Jon Matonis's blog for news and info. In real life, I tell lots of friends and acquaintances about bitcoin (okay, maybe evangelize would be the right word). I've been a lurker on the forum for a few months, and would like to start conversing with fellow BTCers.

Thanks!  Smiley

Hi.

I registered because I have some stuff that I want to sell in the marketplace section. I would appreciate it if I didn't have to wait until I can make a post there.

Anyway, if I have to wait, this counts as my first post Smiley
