Someone explained very beautifully what gambling is '' gambling is a sure way of getting nothing'' and I am totally believe in this thing. In works in circles where are series of winning and loosing which in the end takes almost everyone to nothing. This is nature of gambling over all you will be in loss. You are loosing money in hope of making all back sometimes later. It is hope, chance, opportunity, disaster etc a mixture of many things.

You got a different response because it's depend on the people on how they will treat gambling to themselves.

There are some who played gambling as an investment but eventually it will take them to a stardom. Good example are Dota, Dota2, CSGO etc. It was all started by putting money first as investment and will gambled it in early to mid phase. If lucky, they will soon acquired some of the cafe's league and step by step will climb the ladded to success.

For me gambling is like a game of chance to earn or lose more money in a short amount of time. I don't see gambling as an investment because when i hear that word there's much time that's consumed in the process of doing it just to make profit.

I won't fully subscribe to your definition because gambling to me is a quick way to earn something but that something could either be favourable or adverse depending on chance but you still earn something... My opinion though...

Gambling is not an investment in my view, it is based on luck / chance, you can win or lose, an investment on the other hand 'should' be safer and there should be a plan in place which outlines where you will make your ROI, an investment is something a bit more concrete and solid than gambling.

Expect to have different answers from different people since  they have  different view when trying to ask what is gambling for them. For me ,gambling is just a game which involves money and you can grow or even lose  your money with it. If you play gambling  you already know what to expect on  what would happen to your money.  I never heard that gambling is an investment since  theres no guarantee that it wuld give you stable income with it. maybe its an investment but  to those gambling site owners itself.

Yeah but what about playing computer games? You play for entertainment and you win or lose nothing. Is it considered gambling since you are wasting your time? No its not.

So I guess the definition is different for everyone.

in my openion gambling is just a way to loss all of your money instead of getting profit .
becuase i tried many time to get profit but unfortunately or you may say my bad results in total loss .

Hahaha your right it is their opinion and there are no wrong or correct opinions because that is their vision about that thing  wether we agree or not it is their own explaination of that that thing . to be honest first time i was do a gambling because i thought i could got profit from my gambling activities but after several times have bad experience from my losses i have realize that if i was thinking such as that i would become an addicted so after that i do considers gambling as fun and never do gambling too much

I consider gambling as game, a game with high tension and full of excitement, winning or losing in the gambling feels like a mystery, we wont know it until the banker reveal the game, and i like to think gambling as an entertainment, where you can choose bunch of games in casino, how the people invented new games of gambling, everytime a new game is introduce i feel very curious to know the game further

What comes to my mind is that, gambling is a game of chance, there is money involved that you risk without assurance of gaining profit. Most of the times people just play for entertainment, but sometimes to earn (they are using different techniques to have a higher chance of winning). However, I really think that it's just a matter of luck, maybe techniques are just helping to have some advantage just like in sports betting. For me it can't be considered as an investment unless you invest on the bankroll of the site.

Gambling for me is a game and not an investment...Just like online games that you need to use or buy accessories for your character to make it stronger, same as in betting, you need to ask many bettors to see which one is a good strategy and at the same time using your money to make you last longer... I think it could possibly be called investment if you are just there and inviting new players and you are investing in the house and waiting for it to profit and your commission on the players your brought.

An asset or item that is purchased with the hope that it will generate income or will appreciate in the future.

And because gambling is not the asset or item that we buy to make a profit, so that's why gambling is not an investment for me.
