Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

AvalonMiner controller is actually Raspberry Pi 3 inside their custom case.

Check these links out, you can burn the firmware image to the SD card by yourself if you have a SD card reader to use.
Just follow these instructions available at https://canaan.io/question/how-do-i-connect-an-avalonminer-721-and-avalonminer-controller-including-raspberry-pi-1-2-and-3/.

https://www.amazon.com/CanaKit-Raspberry-Clear-Power-Supply/dp/B01C6EQNNK/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1489091034&sr=1-4&keywords=raspberry+pi

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MicroSDHC-Standard-Packaging-SDSDQUAN-008G-G4A/dp/B00M55C0VU/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1489091298&sr=1-1&keywords=8gb+micro+sd+card
(this has SD adapter with it)

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-USB-Male-Micro-Cable/dp/B01EK87A82/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1489091605&sr=1-1&keywords=AmazonBasics+USB+2.0+A-Male+to+Micro+B+Cable
(in case you don't have one for the AUC3 adapter)

This list contains basicly the same hardware as here https://canaan.io/product/avalonminer-controller/

Total cost 62.48 USD with free shipping in the US
