I would say that any "investment" is a form of "gambling"... as all investments carry with them an element of risk, but there is no way that "gambling" is necessarily an investment. Similar to the "All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares" argument.
And I wouldn't necessarily define gambling as a game either. Some people treat it like a business (Bookies etc) and some people treat it as an income (professional gamblers)... about the only ones treating it as a game are those having a bit of fun and doing some casual betting for some entertainment.

I am very confuse about what they call the gambling a game >.< its about spending money on nothing then why is it called a game? why don't call it money investment? kindly explain please? Thank you  It's because gambling has different types from card games like poker to slots but there's money on the line. If you look at gambling that way others don't because they take the risk of winning big or losing everything. Investment and Gambling share the same thing called risk so others use this term instead of gambling. |

Gambling in the casino as it is a game. I think all gambling is a game because we have to play it in advance and wait for luck we will win or lose. If we mention gambling is investment money was not appropriate because the investment if we had experts will certainly continue to benefit but in fact even though we are experts gamble if not our luck, we can not win it.

Very nice explanation. But to summarize it, gambling is a game cause the activity involve in gambling is a game. They just involved money the and that's what we called a game. I think the interpretation of OP to the game is just for fun.. but seriously it is more fun when they are something precious to you is involved because of thrill. Hahaha |

Gambling is not investment at all near me and why it is called game because it is about taking risk of money on different things. Gambling is a set of games but where money involves this way as general we say it game. Gambling can be on anything it is not strictly related to money only. This is what I understand the meaning of gambling as game.

Thank you Games are fun and they want you to have fun. Casinos want you to feel gambling is fun and games. So that you "play" more but really just fuel their profits. So they make it feel as much of a game as they can. |

Allright, let's do a quick google!
Gambling definition:
1. play games of chance for money; bet.
2. take risky action in the hope of a desired result.
Investment definition:
1. the action or process of investing money for profit or material result
Game definition:
1. a form of play or sport, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength, or luck.
2. a type of activity or business, especially when regarded as a game.
Good definitions, however, I think that gambling can be called a game for sure, as it is an activity. While it is a risky game, it is still a game. However, I don't think gambling can be called an investment in the slightest, as you aren't "investing" your money per se. You could regard it as one, but it would be foolish. To simplify: Game: For fun, Entertainment Gambling: For fun, Entertainment WITH risks and/or money involved Investment: Placing your money somewhere in hopes of future gain. (The fun and entertainment lies in whether you make a profit)

Well this is the simplest definition about gambling, game and investment at all. As long as there is a monetary value involved in a game. That is already gambling game and even in sports if there is already a money involved that is going to be a sports gambling. |

Yeah gambling really made the lives of the gamblers have negative impact as most of the result of it made our lives miserable and wrecked. That is why when we are going to say the word gamble or gambling it comes to the mind of the people that you are playing only a game with money involved to the game. |

Gamble needs to be played in able to win the prize. While investments is like you lend money to a company and the company will make it grow. Theres a difference between this two but they're both risky. Gambling is made for entertainment purpose and investment is the purchased goods and hoping this will gain some profit in the future.

Thank you people call it a game because it is a game and spending money on it doesn't change it. the same way you go to an amusement park and spend money on the games. but the difference here in gambling is that you have a chance of winning some of that money back and even make a profit. also it can not be an investment because it is risky and you can't manage it in a way that you always win. |

All gambling have very interesting games and people have different choices, where we put our money on risk that is pure form of gambling and all people will do agree with this, this is really confusing when we spend money just to lose it doesn't make any sense.

They call gambling a game because you nee to place money on some game that can be from casino or sports game. Whenever you gamble on anything you need to do something i.e you say red card will appear on road yes or no. It is also a form of game this is why gambling is considered a game.

Thank you They call it a game because while you are putting your money at stake in it you also get a fun from it, And try to think about what a gambling looks like, it is a game, poker is a game, race is a game, sports is a game, right, Sor how come that it will become investment at all.
