Gambling management is somewhat personal habit and you shouldn't be enforcing something that works for you on others.
I am talking about hard numbers here. 5% of bankroll could be $1 for someone and $4000 for someone else.
You're right, that's why Op challenge just 5% of your bankroll so you wouldn't lost too much, if you want more profits than put more on your bet such as 50% or 100%, the risk is up to you to take the consequences. So here we can get tips for football betting?

This is what I generally do but, If my 5% loses, I look to find a really good value bet and If im able to find one, I bet 10% of my bankroll. Generally it works out and I win. If I lose I take a day off or get back to 5% till I make the money back and then make a 10% bankroll bet. Its a weird strategy but I use it quite a lot. |

When i already did doubled my bankroll i always taking up the risk again to play it in the long run but i always saving my initial capital if the result was unlucky i still have money and i always bet 10 -20% of my bankroll depends on the situation analyzing is always win.
