Hello guys,

I'm new with this mining thing, and I'm interested in either mine BCN or XMR (or whatever my system can run).
The problem is that I have a nvidia card and I'm not quite sure how to use it... I know I'm supposed to use ccminer but I don't know how...

I've been using MinerGate and already withdraw a few BCN, but is quite slow, I guess my system is not good enough xD

Would you mind helping me a bit here?

GPU: GeForce 210
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 5350 APU with Radeon(tm) R3

(not sure if the ram is important here, but I have 8...)

I've been reading a bit but I must admit I'm completely lost, so, if you have a guide for dummys or something like that, I'll be grateful.
I'm gonna do this at the office so... free electricity and all...

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I saw it before, but I'm not sure how to configure it. And I can't find a tutorial, step by step or something. (I'm really a newbie...)
I already downloaded the zip, but doesn't supposed to have a exe file or something?
Sorry, I'm kind of lost =/

I can help with CPU mining. I can help for Windows. The fact you have 8 GB ram tells that you have x64 OS, which is important to have.

Do you have a wallet installed? If not, go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0 and get a wallet.
Or you can find a pool that mines directly to exchange, but most pools don't do that afaik and it's not advised.

A pretty good miner is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326803.0
Download the binaries, not the source code.

Open the readme, see which miner exe is OK for your system. It may be cpuminer-btver1.exe and if it doesn't work you can try the other ones too.
Code:
start /low the_correct_exefilename.exe -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://pool.minexmr.com:4444 -u your_wallet_address -p x

You can change the pool and port too if you want.

Thank you, I'm trying to use it, but when I open it it closes immediately. Any idea why?

CD to the directory with the EXEs and type the cpuminer command manually (no start /low) to see what the error is.
If your CPU is as old as your GPU you may have to use cpuminer-core2.
