Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Bitcoin can be difficult to explain but so can money and what teenager really knows how that works, hell most people don't know how money really works.
I think a teenager would probably be the easiest generation to teach bitcoin to, you don't need to teach them the whole in's and out's just a bit about public/private key pairs, sending/receiving addresses and secure coin holding and they will pick up the rest very quickly.

Best way of explaining is using the gold analogy.

But I think explaining it to a person in his/her early teens will be quite diffiicult. Best to wait till the person reaches late teens and then explain

I think we can start explain bitcoin by tell them that bitcoin is like other international currencies dollar, euro and many else. They will understand and you explain more about bitcoin.

Yes ,it is so hard to explain to them especially if they are not interested to waste just like 2-4hours a day spending time to bitcoin .
But its easy to explain if the teenagers are openminded with business and money and they know how value each money that goes on their hands

what do you mean with wasting 2-4hours a day if they use bitcoin? you know that bitcoin is just like ordinary currency and works like that but the difference is bitcoin's getting used for digital transaction, and when you're going to make a transaction it's only took about 5 minutes to get done,so no wasting time at all

We need not think that far because young children certainly do not understand bitcoin. And if we tell bitcoin sure they are also difficult to understand. If we tell adults about bitcoin would be easy to understand because they would be interested because they would think of the benefits.

They are born in digital age, with Internet and they are very open for the new technologies, ideas and projects.
Also, they learn much faster than elderly people and I really don't think they will need much explanation about Bitcoin.
As soon as they see benefits of Bitcoin, they will adapt it.
I don't worry about this point at all.

I think this is one of the biggest problems for parents to tell of teach their children about the bitcoins because i know for sure that the children wont understand allot of it because they dont know the worth of rreal money i think this bitcoin thing is only for people who know how to go furhter with money

My thoughts exactly. The best way to explain to teenage children what Bitcoin is is showing them the places on the Internet where they can learn about it. Two weeks later they will be explaining to you what you don't understand about Bitcoin.

you don't have to be so hard about understanding and explaining bitcoin either for yourself or others.
think of bitcoin this way, you only need to understand how to use it just the way you should only understand how to use a credit card. do you know how a credit card is created? do you know what encryption it uses? do you know how a credit card atm connects to the server and pays you money,...

then you should treat bitcoin the same way too. only learn how to create a wallet (you can even use a wallet like coinbase and not worry about anything else except them banning your account) and also hot to send/receive bitcoin.

the rest of technical stuff like mining, how the network works, about encryption,.... is only for those who are interested in technical stuff Smiley

I think it would be better if we just let children enjoy their lives. Since they are still dependent on their parents, they don't need to learn bitcoin ASAP and as technology advances and bitcoin grows, I think they'll know about it at the right time. In regards with teenagers, mostly they are into web browsing, side job hunting and tech exploring that's why it might be easier for them to learn about bitcoin with just little supervision. Just teach them the basics, how bitcoin works and what can we do with it, as long as they get interested into it, they will make a way to learn more about it.

Teenagers play computer games. There are resources in those games.
You can go from in-game resources to money you cannot touch (credit/debit cards), then telling that it's like money, just it's not a country's money.

children dont understand banks/fractional reserves etc..

the best way to explain it is in gaming terms,

like their games assets (whether its tradable pokemon or weapons, food, healthpacks in some RPG)
these assets are stored based on the username and password.. you can send assets to someone else by knowing their username which you/they are free to hand out to anyone.. but no one can take assets(pokemon, weapons, healthpacks) from you unless they know your password and you cant send them to other people usernames without using your password to authorise the trade.

there are many websites where you can look up that statistics of who has what asset(pokemon, weapons, healthpacks) and you can use your password on many websites to move your assets to other people. the assets(pokemon, weapons, healthpacks)

the assets(pokemon, weapons, healthpacks) are not stored on just one website but linked directly to your username and many websites just store the statistics pages of what username has what asset

now the username is called a address and the password is called a private key.. do not tell anyone your private key as thats your key that should remain private. but if anyone you like wants to give you gifts or see what you have be free to tell them your address

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

I don't think so.
In fact, I really think that teenagers or children can understand Bitcoin much better than older generation.

I absolutely agree with you. It's much more difficult to explain Bitcoin to older generation

Games. Steam would be the first idea. We know teenages nowadays they love playing role-playing games and MMO's this could be the best option for them to see or will have an idea to what it is.

explain to teenagers yes but i don't think you should start explaining bitcoin to kids before explaining to them how money works and what money really is Smiley

but in general i think using a video is the easiest way you can explain bitcoin to anybody at any age. and youtube is filled with videos and some of them are actually good.

most parents don't know what money is so they wouldn't have a hope in hell of explaining it. if I had a teenager sat in front of me now i'd tell them it was an internet currency, show them a few places where it could be spent and tell them not to blow it all on drugs.
