I don't know how long, but I have NEVER received a complaint about terminated accounts.
Obviously they work with Office.

I bought one email in less than 2 hours after this topic was started but only now I finally got around to test it. The account works, of course, you can change the password as well as the security questions. The "integrated" Office365 is nice, though it was initially in Russian language, no idea why. Haven't actually tested it with any edu-discount services yet. Either way it's well worth the $1.
