Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

If you wish to claim REVS asset,  have your BTCD in your personal wallet  before end of ICO.  Snapshot will be conducted after ICO has concluded approximately 1-2 weeks.
Further details will be announced after ICO.

why do you need them before end of ICO?
Snapshot will be 1 week after ICO ends and will be announced ?

Can one of the leaders give some more detailed information about the Snapshot stuff ?

a specific block height after the end of ICO will be selected. initially we planned it to be right after ICO ends, that is why the recommendation to do it before the ICO ends as they are adjacent in time.

some requests to be able to participate in snapshot without local wallet came in and we try to accomodate by allowing to use the ICO website to deposit BTCD and thus participate in the snapshot.

The snapshot will be automatic.
You will need to importprivkey for your designated redeem address, which is where the REVS will be sent to. The same address is where KMD will be sent to

So, if it have BTCD in a local wallet, you dont need to do anything, each funded address will get the same amount of REVS as of the snapshot height.
If you dont have a local BTCD wallet, then you need to wait for BTCD mode to be enabled.

exact block will be determined when the BTCD redeem site is working so please dont ask for the exact blockheight now

just to be clear, the ICO website will allow me to send my BTCD there, for the purposes of the snapshot? I can avoid downloading the BTCD client/blockchain etc? Is there a mailing list or something? I tried subscribing to newsletter on the main page and got an error directed to this page https://ico.komodoplatform.comalmostfinished/
There will be at least 1-2 weeks notice before snapshot for people to do this?

Yes, that's what we are trying to do

Is there a mailing list or something? I tried subscribing to newsletter on the main page and got an error directed to this page https://ico.komodoplatform.comalmostfinished/

Thanks for notifying us, we will look into it. Apparently the URL is missing some characters.

We will notify people about what to do, yes. However if you are going away and don't follow the updates regularly we would advise to move the funds to a local wallet so you don't miss the snapshot. But yes, we will provide more info as soon as we know the details.

Just read this article on Bitcoinist.net

Komodo Platform: The Infrastructure Coin of Decentralized Services

The well-known anonymous developer jl777 and the SuperNET community have been quietly developing an infrastructure for decentralized applications (DAPPs). With the launch of Komodo, the team is about to introduce a decentralized exchange and pegged assets, among other features.

Komodo, the cryptocurrency platform that will tie all of the projects put forward by the SuperNET team is in its last stages of development and testing. The Komodo Platform will be bind of the SuperNET ecosystem and allow advanced features like decentralized trading of both national and digital currencies in a secure and anonymous environment. Along with new user features, the project will also give back to the entire blockchain development community with tools that can be used to secure and complement other crypto projects...more.

It's already way too long to back read and I don't have much time for it. But I assume KMD wallets aren't yet advisable for download? I'm so excited on this. Keep up the good work team.

This is such a trap for BTCD holders. No buy support and all I want is to GTF out of this KMD swap.... what a joke. I dont want KMD and I'm stuck with BTCD or have to sell so cheap its a total fucking disaster. Sorry for all who invested. The price is going to tank like Steem after it hits exchanges. I just hope I can recover some of my initial BTC investment into BTCD waaay back when.

Is there going to be buy support wall for those who want out? I sure hope so.

i dont get it.

You get a better price then during the ico and (maybe) a final and working Plattform at the end.

Selling now doesnt make much sense to me.
In case the unsold Komodo Coins getting burned this becomes rare af too.

We distribute all 90M komodo coins to our investors (90 %), no coins get burned. You can use the ICO calculator to speculate how much KMD you will receive. Smiley

The KMD/BTC exchange rate can be calculated on Sunday after the ICO has ended.

After Sunday the BTCD is the only way to accumulate more KMD, as it will take at lest 2 weeks before KMD is traded in any exchange. However it could take little longer as we cannot promise any date when the exchanges list KMD.

Question about the BTCD snapshot:

Can you keep staking or should you end staking before the snapshot happens? I just don't know how the snapshot process deals with coins locked for staking.

snapshot is external
it just takes a snapshot of the blockchain at the to be specified height

then REVS coins in matching amounts will be sent to each address with a non-dust balance
