Binance has started staking rewards for KMD,what is better,to keep Kmd in wallet or on Binance?
Keeping on Binance has advantage like you can trade instantly(When price spikes) and don't have to do anything to get interest. Keeping in wallet doesn't have that instant trading benefit as it requires 120 confirmations, There are advantages and disadvantages to both. I'd like to keep mine in hardware wallet and claim monthly interest.

Yes if you are holding to many, hardware wallet is a good choice but for someone like me who has small amount, keeping on binance is good option

Keeping in Binance exchange is a very good option but i think they will give a small percentage to stakeholders, whereas if you hold the coin in the KMD wallet you might get higher reward compared to Binance staking.
Agree, holding in your own wallet is better, because people withdraw all the time on exchange, so some of the UTXOs in exchange wallet won't have enough time to generate reward resulting in lower than 5.1% APR.

AtomicDEX AMA
August 7th, 2019

What is the timeline for atomicDEX desktop version?

We are planning to release the desktop version on end of  2019 / early 2020

Have you thought about custom layouts of the Dex? Many trades often and it would be nice to customize the Dex. Dark mode, light mode ok, am talking I upload any picture for background.
It's gimmick I know but anyway would be nice imo

We have not planned such a feature yet but feel free to submit a feature request.

A quick suggestion: it would be nice to have a market rate for the swap. And also how much the bid price is off the market price. Say for eg, 1 KMD is 1.0 USDC. So if my bid 1,10, I'm +10%.
Also, if we can have an idea of the orders placed to know what is the current liquidity of each coin.

Market rate vs. actual rate is a good idea. Thanks for the input. Orderbook volumes are already visible.

How quickly can new ERC20 tokens for swapping be added?

Most ERC20 tokens are compatible with atomicDEX and using them with the atomicDEX-api is trivial and possible independently of our official listing.
Adding ERC20 tokens to atomicDEX mobile is a semi-automated process and does not require any development work.

ERC20 coins can be confirmed compatible in command line given some parameters and posting a test swap in the repo at https://github.com/jl777/coins

The DEX fee is about .13% for takers. Those DEX fees are used to buy KMD. If 5 different projects are using the atomicDEX back-end software (MM2), do they all have the same basic DEX fee and are the DEX fees from all those projects used to purchase KMD?

Yes, they are all using the same protocol - i.e. resulting in same fee logic. And those fees all get converted to KMD.

Will you incentive traders for making many trades? I am thinking a lottery where your amount of trades are entry tickets for some kind of pricepool, an example taken from the fees? Or even more cheap trading fees, like for owning bnb on binance?

Our marketing team is working on different campaigns to incentive traders.

Are you planning to payout dex fees to DEX asset holders this year?

Yes, a payout takes place as soon as the accumulated DEX fees surpass 1M USD value.

Are there specific plans in place to have good liquidity for when atomicDEX is out and usable for everyone? I read that there are plans to use CEX API-s to enable more liquidity. is that for some more distant future or will this be ready once atomicDEX is launched?
so basically what I'm asking is: what specific steps are being taken to provide as much liquidity as possible?

We are working on an application called “Antara MakerBot” which basically is a system to automatically spin up orders with a variety of configuration options like targets, margins, spreads, automatic price-update based on CEX, and much more. This system will contain a CEX gateway that could feed the DEX order books with the CEX liquidity pool. That's a technology that is already proven to be compatible with atomicDEX mobile and our DEX engineers are actively working on it (not just plans but rather in active development).
Furthermore does atomicDEX mobile now offer the option to create (limit) orders regardless of already existing orders which turns the app a mobile LP/market-maker tool.
The bigger vision and our general goal is to use atomicDEX as a bridge between all CEX and DEX networks to ultimately craft a unified liquidity pool.

Is it possible to add a lending contract for margin trading?

PegsCC is currently under development and will have required functionality - PegsCC pegging KMD to stable KUSD coin, PricesCC is for margin trading

Will direct private trading be possible with atomicDEX through private needs created on private nodes (not created on atomicDEX) Apologies if already answered.

atomicDEX API allows making custom trading networks by netid parameter changing. but some basic infrastructure (seed nodes) is needed

Can I claim rewards in atomicDEX?

Yes, as long as utxos in wallet meet criteria at https://support.komodoplatform.com/support/solutions/articles/29000024428-komodo-5-active-user-reward-all-you-need-to-know

Since grandma tends to think in terms of fiat values, can/will the order book be displayed and interacted with in the fiat of choice? Such that if grandma wants to sell $10 of crypto she lists it as $10, irrespective of whether $10 of KMD is 1 KMD or .1 KMD. Asking for a grandma.

We will add more fiat currencies. However, the above proposal sounds like an entirely new feature request, please feel free to submit this on Github. (There are some risks related to this feature as it could cause financial damage)

When will Atomic Dex be ready for release on the App Store?

atomicDEX mobile is already available for Android and iOS. The iOS beta program is held on TestFlight. If you haven’t received an invite, please register for the Beta here: https://atomicDEX.io

Does/can the atomicDEX support Ledger at some point?

We do plan to integrate HW wallet support in the near future.

How can I update my version?

Android:
Playstore -> Hamburger menu (in left - top corner ) -> My apps and games -> Installed -> find atomicDEX and click update

iOS:
Testflight -> If there are no updates near atomicDEX, there will be an "Open" button. If there are any updates there, there will be an "Update" button instead

How is it different from the newly proposed Decred DEX? They are both based on Atomic Swaps?

Komodos technology is a 3rd generation, production-ready and platform-independent cross-chain atomic swap protocol powered DEX technology while Decred is still in the conceptual/development stage.

At the moment dex doesn’t look good from the UX/UI, design point of view + there are bugs and errors in place which are to be fixed I assume.  Looking at dex now I don’t see many users using it + I am sure we will face liquidity issues (remember the first dex which was used by few ppl only and was not popular at all). What is the plan? When are you planning to polish the product and make it public? Will the community see a marketing plan?

It’s still in beta so it’s normal that there are bugs and errors, this is why we do the Beta. Our marketing team is working on different campaigns to incentive traders.

Does any of this have anything to do with the Supernet/Unity asset or is that worthless now?

Supernet/Unity asset still owns a lot of crypto, including 10M kmd, it's a fund,

If you own 1% of supernet/unity assets you indirectly own 1% of the crypto assets in the fund.

Hodl your supernet/unity , it's worth a lot now, and probably much more in the future.

Supernet/unity is a crypto fund, it's not producing tech or a coin, but it holds a lot of value.

Wow, congrats to the komodo dev team, this is a historic achievement with global significance,

with USA users getting booted from Binance next week and having to either move to the KYC local version of Binance, or, use a vpn and go illegal, using 100% legal AtomicDEX is a no-brainer!

Remember, avoiding KYC is more to do with maintaining privacy and preventing your identity docs being  sold on the dark web to criminals after exchange hacks. The smart legal approach is avoid all exchanges that require you sending your identity docs to strangers! Plus, 'not your keys, not your coins'

AtomicDEX for the WIN!

Cool! Great news, I definitely have to try it. Atomic swaps are a good and very fast way to exchange coins and tokens. I am glad that the team is developing this direction too.

From yesterday's komodo newsletter:

Quote
What makes a DEX a DEX?
Many new exchange projects have taken to calling themselves decentralized, but are they really?
This week, the Komodo team published an article exploring what makes an exchange truly decentralized.
Read the full article to learn about the 4 core requirements of a true DEX: The 4 Core Requirements of a True DEX
