Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Hi guys,
Apologies that we have not been more present here. This is Brian Crain, I'm the COO of Tendermint. (And some people might also know me from Epicenter podcast.)

The fundraiser is indeed going ahead next Friday March 31. We're very excited for that. It has been pointed out that Cosmos isn't doing a great job at marketing and I'm fully aware of that.

The team we have is super developer heavy. But they are highly competent developers and with Tendermint they built something that wasn't only innovative and works, but also something that has major traction. ErisDB by Monax is built on it, Parity has integrated it as a consensus option and companies that have built PoCs based on Tendermint include SWIFT, SwissRe, Commonwealth Bank Australia, Barclays and dozens of others.

This, by the way, is also a strong argument for Cosmos. Since it is based on one of the leading consensus algorithms used for permissioned blockchains, it will make interoperability between permissioned chains and Cosmos very easy.

I'll be here regularly in the next two weeks to answer any questions. (But as was pointed out, we do have an active Slack community with over 1,000 members where quite a lot of discussion is taking place. Feel free to join that: http://forum.tendermint.com:3000/

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know about a few events that are coming up. They offer a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about Cosmos.

1. We are doing a Google Hangout with the CoinFund community today at 3pm EDT (NY time). You can sign up for their slack group here: http://slack.coinfund.io/. The details about how to get on the hangout will be available there.

2. We are also doing a Slack AmA with the Cryptocopia community next Tuesday again at 3pm EDT. You can join their slack here https://cryptocopia.herokuapp.com/

3. We'll also do a Slack AmA with the CoinFund community (in addition to the Google hangout) next Wednesday at 3pm EDT. Again join here http://slack.coinfund.io/

Of course, tons of discussion going on in our slack in the meantime: http://forum.tendermint.com:3000/

And some resources you might find useful:
- Cosmos Whitepaper: https://cosmos.network/whitepaper
- Epicenter episode about Cosmos with Jae Kwon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t885QSY0sNQ

Good to see you have so many good hangout and slack AMAs, but no bounty? People like bounty to promote your project and get some coins as reward.

I don't know the performance of the presale and the figure raised, but I just hope this marketing push is not too late, so many good projects in the space presently and they are all asking for thesame resources and this boils down to which team has the best pull power to attract enough investors. Good team no doubt about that but have made marketing secondary

Due to lack of information, I will have to duck out of this one. Love the story but cannot buy into the seemingly lack of execution.
