New @cosmoshub proposal to increase the inflation rate change variable as for the network to better protect itself against unbondings & react faster when $ATOM bonding ratio drops below the 66% goal is in voting period!



The purpose of changing the network’s inflation rate is to protect it from unbonding shocks that threaten to compromise the security of the network. When the bonded ratio gets below the goal bonded ratio (currently at 66% on the hub) the inflation rate & effective yield of staked atoms goes up in order to incentivize holders to bond new ATOM’s, providing additional security to the network. Inversely, if we regain a desired amount of staked tokens, the yield will drop, decreasing effective yields for all delegators. Ideally the inflation rate starts changing fast, optimizing network security over monetary hardness. To figure out what an appropriate selection for the cosmos hub would be, I created excel sheets to run through all the different scenarios to find what value made the inflation rate react in an optimal manner. I came to the conclusion that 1 (AKA 100% per year is the maximum slope of the inflation curve) gave the most ideal characteristics, with the added benefit of simplifying the equation. I’ll give some examples on how it would react. Since unbonding is what we are protecting against, I will look at flash unbonds while the inflation rate is at the floor due to that being the #1 time of vulnerability.

The Cosmos Hub Roadmap 2.0



This Cosmos Hub Product Roadmap incorporates input from product owners, key Cosmos stakeholders (ATOM holders, Interchain Foundation, and Cosmos Hub operations), the internal Gaia / ATOM call, the virtual Gaia Org Call, the Cosmos Hub as a Port City article, and the ATOM2021 presentation.

This roadmap gives a one-year guideline in which stakeholders can anticipate updated features on the Cosmos Hub, with the greatest degree of specificity available for the most immediate upgrades, and decreasing precision available the further out the timeline goes. For example, the roadmap is most precise for the upcoming Liquidity upgrades (the Gravity DEX and Gravity Bridge modules).

The upgrades aim to add features such as liquidity, economic security, usability, and participation. To highlight our focus on DeFi, we have chosen to use the Greeks from Finance in naming upcoming upgrades.

Sagan is touted as a sandbox. The same as Ropsten testnet developed by Vitaliks crew of self-serving scamming anarchists. Sagan chain will be merely a testnet with a functionality to connect sidechains & blockchains with each other albeit stripped of super features, for instance sending of real tokens cross-chain style will be unavailable. In laymen terms it is a spaghetti junction of multiple chains living inside the cosmos code.

Wow I totally thought the soft cap just triggered a 6 hour shutdown.  Went to the bathroom came back and it's sold out?
Well, guess I'll wait and see what happens when this actually launches and hits the exchanges, seems like they sold 50% more than the original goal so it'll dilute things a little.

Turns out this was a $2 million bathroom break now.

Of the projects I picked back in 2017 3 out of the 4 went on to do >200X but I only managed to get into two of the ICOs I wanted and unfortunately one went only 10X and the other one went 240X but I held far too long and it crashed 99%.

Lessons learned, shouldn't go to the bathroom and I should have invested a lot more money than I did. Oh well.

What is the Rho Upgrade?
The road to the Rho upgrade has been a long one.

Over the course of development, the featureset for Rho has been in flux. Rho was initially slated to ship with the Cosmos SDK v0.46 with all the improvements in Groups and Governance.

As a result of a number of factors, it was decided to stay with the Cosmos SDK 0.45 release line. A number of features from the Cosmos SDK v0.46 release line will likely show up in future Cosmos Hub releases.
