It is clear that Tony can manipulate the market price of byteball with his own announcements.

He can buy in the market, then announce a good new, pumping the price and then sell his byteballs just before announcing bad news, to buy again lower.

This is not serious and makes me not to believe any more in this project and so I have sold my byteballs. Not interested in beeing a holder any more.

Your questioning on Tony is no sense. He, as the owner of the Byteball, can reserve more for development. No need for manipulation of the price with your "method".

I am also not happy about the change of the distribution method, as I bought some Byteball months ago for obtaining the new rewards.
However, I still believe in What Tony are making effort is good at the future of Byteball.

Hold my Gbyte, anyway.

I agree of the total nonsense of questioning Tony. If there is one dev in the crypto space who is NOT interested at all in what the "markets" do that's exactly Tony. He doesn't care at all of price and other ephemeral trivial details, so to accuse him of "manipulating the market" is probably the most ridiculous statement of this whole thread. LoL. Cheesy

The distribution model is one of the keys towards to the success of a coin. Raiblocks show a successful case.
Byteball is chasing its own one.

seems Byteball distribution paradigm has shifted to random drop of small amounts to newcomers to play the team game.  But, if everyone in newcomers team  wants to play a different game and  immediatly sell , how could they be stopped?

I have to say, the whole distribution canceling fiasco is very unsettling. It's never good to go back on promises made to investors...

No promises were ever made by anyone. There was also a DISCLAIMER on the website stating this is only a provisional distribution method and is subject to change or cancellation at any point.

Correct, I'll add that there is no way to use that data to do network analysis. There is a good thread on this that tony started, but I don't recall and can't easily find the link to share.

Thanks! I would love to see this thread get revived. There's a lot of unresolved debate whether blackbytes are private or anonymous (and over the definitions actually) on different channels. It would be nice to see consensus or at least well documented arguments for either side.

are you guys still believe in black coins? It seems still no any use

If someone set up a TOR Hidden Services P2P sports betting exchange using the Byeball platform then blackbytes would have use.

Interesting idea now that I think of it...

Edit: totally illegal

12 witnesses = centralization = not good

Your reputation here is also nonexistent so I doubt anyone cares what you think.

The future decentralization of Byteball remains to be seen. It's not pretending to be anywhere near decentralized yet.

When the witnesses are run by real-world, known identities, we can speculate as to how corruptible they are, or how likely they are to collude.

Same as Ripple.

It seems you are missunderstanding the "reputation" concept with the date of my user sign up or the number of messages of this account. BTW, this is a recently created account because my original one from 2010 was hacked some months ago.

So, next time try to answer with arguments instead of using ad hominem attacks.

The consensus algorithm seems very similar to IOTA's tangle. Can someone please tell me how is it different in Byteball?

No I'm not misunderstanding anything. If your old account was "hacked" your reputation is even worse -- who are you to talk about network security vv decentralization?

You misunderstand the meaning of ad hominem attacks. I simply stated the apparent truth -- your attack on the fundamentals of Byteball is not likely to be respected because you have no reputation for being knowledgable.

Just finished a small airdrop for new users who linked their BTC address for the cancelled March airdrop.
Total 2022 users.
72 MB to each user.
Total distributed amount: 145.584 GB.

They received this text from the retired transition bot:

Quote
As you perhaps already know, the March airdrop was cancelled since balance-based airdrops stopped bringing more value as they used to do. Other formats of airdrop will be exercised later in the process.
Additionally, we are shifting our focus to product and business development.

We understand that some of users spent money to link a BTC address for this airdrop, and while the airdrop was clearly indicated as tentative, we still want you to be a user of Byteball platform, and to allow you to experience its features, we are sending you 72,000,000 Bytes (worth about $30).

This is a nice gesture and an unexpected gift. New users can no longer complain about not receiving free bytes and spending money to link their bitcoins. It had to be done before a  formal announcement, otherwise people would have started splitting bitcoins and then linking addresses. The older people who had linked their bitcoin addresses through the bot will feel a little bit sad that they missed out.

IOTA and GBYTE are the only 2coins that using blockless technology on the market right now, am I right, guys?
IOTA has no transaction fee, does the GBYTE?
I'm a fan of IOTA, but wanna know more about GBYTE.
Cry, miss the day that GBYTE price = 0.33btc

There is another competitor NANO (formerly Raiblocks) which uses the Tangle technology. Byteball has very low transaction fees.

It seems you don't have any GByte yet when you don't know about it, right? Then I wonder why you are missing the day when 1 GByte was 0.33 BTC, you have the chance to buy Byteball very cheap now.
well, I got a few GBYTE but never transfer it anywhere but let it on the exchange. and don't know the fee
and I buy it at 0.2 btc, then it rise to 0.3 and didn't sell, then storm came up, and I sold at 20% loss
at that time, it's no more than other coins to me, but when I fall in love with IOTA and know this using blockless too.
NANO as I know, it using sidechain, which mean it combines some kind of technology, including tangle, right?
there's a time that I typing capcha to get the raiblocks, and sell it for very very cheap to buy toys for younger brother :')))

Hey Tonych, thanks for distributing these coins to new users. So how many GBYTE left, 30% sort of? Will you plan other distro models along with cashbacks, verification giveaways and textcoins?
