It's painful to look like a coin loses its value at such pace 50% per week?) is it already floor? or will we go down until it becomes worthless? +1 I still blame the shitty setup of the Airdrop fo dis. The cancellation of the airdrop was definitely the primary reason, but the price has continued to decline long after that was announced. I would attribute the 10-15% correction in the price once the announcement of the cancellation was made as a direct consequence. But what about the subsequent and substantial destruction in value? From the 50s. Byteball has dropped to the 90s in terms of market capitalization. It could soon be out of the top 100. Agreed. Whole crypto is in a downturn but this fall relative to all the others is very telling. Ranking was about 54th in market cap before ending airdrops to byte holders. Now 86th as I write. It is easy to understand why. The incentive to hold was removed. I see two possible reasons; either premeditated deliberate sabotage of exchange value of bytes for reasons unknown or else a worryingly inept understanding of market forces. I think latter is slightly better and what I would hope it is. But still is not good. Especially when you consider how many are still left to distribute., Sure... if all the witnesses colluded at once then censorship exists.
I don't mean to speak out of my depth here, but currently in Byteball, are not all witnesses tonych? I think there might be one that is not operated by supreme leader. I think there is one or (maybe two) that you can opt into if you research how to change your witness list, but default list is all Tonych. I'm guessing very few change the default list. It is unproven that even one large entity might ever consider doing this (being a witness). However even if all 12 witnesses were different and represented by large companies with reputations to protect. To get them to collude in secret is not a huge stretch of the imagination. They might even be ordered to by governments or intel agencies. Like the way backdoors are put into PC firmware or whatever. I am sure for example banks collude routinely. And when caught only get their wrist slapped. eg look at LIBOR. "Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked" Starting to wonder if Byteball is one of those, which makes me the unfortunate bag holder

Byteball is showing great resistance against Bitcoin by sustaining its value at decent level. It is rare chance for fiat based investors to step forward and pick cheap coins. Next phase should be of non ICO's projects having something in their basket to offer as solutions and Byteball meets with this criteria.

Against bitcoin byteball has fallen since the end of February from 0.075 to 0.023 today, how is that sustaining its value ? Still I guess it will find a level somewhere where it can show great resistance

At this time there is a huge risk to invest the cryptocurrency for fiat-investors. A lot of bad news and FUDs on the cryptocurrency, which are the reason that all coins are going down.

when traders leave, the speculative component of the price evaporates. There remains a price based on utility. For me this coin useless, like and for other owners imho. I can't find even one merchant in my country, who ready to accept my bytes. Thus, any price above zero can be considered as a present, after the end of the bull run. Be grateful for the opportunity to sell at such a nice prices. Big investors with over 10 TB, already deprived of such joy

The remaining constituent stems from belief.

Still I guess it will find a level somewhere where it can show great resistance The fall in fiat terms has been even greater, with the price falling from over $1000 to $175 in the last few months. While the euphoria surrounding cryptocurrencies in general has fallen post December, Byteball seems to have performed far worse. All this talk of resistance is meaningless, when the relative ranking of Byteball in terms of market capitalization has fallen from 50s to 90s.

it had to end at some point. they could've ended it in a more professional manner than they have. distribution certainly excites people but it also becomes a burden, a crutch and it's something that needs to be treated like a cauterization - get it done, do it well and do it comprehensively. this uncertainty sucks and the project won't move as far as it deserves until people know where it stands on this.

Looking over the last few dozen pages I see a lot of people speculating about the drop in price.
It boils down to:
1) Fall in all alt coins 2) Fall in BTC 3) Cancelling of airdrop 4) Lack of meaningful updates 5) Lack of exchanges (and the issues with Cryptopia)
Now, we as holders can't do much about 1 or 2. Unless you have enough money to move the market.
3 & 4 are strictly on tonych (who I feel is doing a lot) but some people feel he should be doing more.
5 is on us. It really does not take that much time to vote in exchanges that allow you to put your input into which coins they add.
I have a few that I make the rounds on every week. And yes it's 100% for me to make more money as my holdings go up.
When you are only listed on 4 exchanges on coinmarketcap.com which is most peoples go to site to check for where to trade and: One of them is not working (Cryptopia) One is Korean only as far as I can tell (Upbit) The 3rd has less then 6% of the volume. You wind up @ Bittrex which a lot of people have moved away from over the last few months as their reputation is getting worse.
So, if I was looking to get some Bytes, I just moved on to the next coin I was looking at. Because of that. We as a group (yes I am doing my very small part) have to start pushing it more.
Just my opinion. Feel free to ignore.

you and anyone else do not need to buy Bytes. Not now Right point. I am rebuilding from scratch a project and will integrate bytes because: 1. My users could get money for free (its a card game, people will put small bets each game -like 5 cents or less-). So they could play with "real money", introduce them to crypto w/o risk and bring new users. Network effect, metcalfe law. 2. Wallet is very user friendly, my users are not techies. However, my users do not speak english, so it will be harder to spread the word. Chatbot texts are very clear, but being able to translate them is needed IMO.
