Thanks, got the bytes! waiting for GBBs.
I'm happy that the overall distribution will be accelerated by the doubling at the next round! With that the coin's value shoud settle faster.
Doubling next round? Where did they say that? They announced it recently - but they'll double only the bytes you get from your stack of bytes, airdrop for BTCs remain the same. By the way, hi Bob, still a EMC2 whale and a lover of sport cars?

Doubling next round? Where did they say that? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg18963073#msg18963073It was promised that the distribution formula will change in the future rounds to give more new Bytes to current Byte holders relative to BTC holders.
On June 9 we'll have the 6th round of distribution, and after more than 4 months in the wild and having survived multiple post-distribution dumps, I think now it feels safer than before to participate in the distribution with Bytes, that's why the formula will change in favor of Byte-holders. Also, I want to accelerate the distribution to minimize the perceived uncertainty connected with undistributed coins.
So, these are the rules for the distribution on June 9 (nothing changes for the today's round):
BTC to bytes: (no change) 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB) BTC to blackbytes: (no change) 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 62.5 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes) Bytes to bytes: (2x increase) 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.2 new bytes Bytes to blackbytes: (2x increase) 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.42222 blackbytes

Still no blackbytes, how much are they worth anyway per 1 btc snapshot?
Someone answered before but answered about byteball not blackbytes.

The very first post. The snapshots for the 5th round will be taken on the Full Moon of May, on May 10, 2017 at 21:42 UTC. This is what you receive: BTC to bytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB) BTC to blackbytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 62.5 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes) Bytes to bytes: 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.1 new bytes Bytes to blackbytes: 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.21111 blackbytes

Distribution forecastThe exact number of rounds can’t be predicted. This depends on two factors: 1. The number of linked BTCs in each additional round (BTC Power) 2. The compound interest rate in the distribution of the bytes (interest power -> currently 20%) sample calculation

@Tony is it necessary to backup ~/.config/byteball folder? I ask because in the wallet I read this message: "To restore your wallets, you will need a full backup of Byteball data at ~/.config/byteball" And if so, does a backup of this folder have to be done after any new activity in the wallet (i.e. sending/receiving tokens, smart contracts, chats, etc)

I can see my bytes on the explorer, but not in my wallet. Any idea how i can let them appear?
try to substitute the hub Uh explain haha...never heard of that before Settings > Hub> and type any address of these byteroll.com/bb - 1gbit unlimited in North Europe. e.byteroll.com/bb - 1gbit unlimited in North America s.byteroll.com/bb - 200mbit in Singapore. byteball.fr/bb byteroll.com/bb byteball-ua.net/bb then save Thanks, tried it, but still same amount as before the round. Don't get it, it is visible on the explorer though. Do you have the latest version of the Byteball client?

So I uninstalled/cleaned PC for Byteball files/downloaded/reinstalled Byteball AGAIN on my Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit. Still crashes directly after starting up. Would be nice if I could get some support here. Not impressed so far.
Just installed on a Win10Pro64 myself as a test. Took 4-5 mins to install. Set to lite wallet. Took about 20 seconds to sync.

I've run like every version of the light win 10 x64 wallet since coin launched with no problem. Maybe would help if you checked the logs and provided some info besides just saying it crashed.

Version 1.8.3 released https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases. This is mainly a bugfix update, it fixes a few annoying issues that affected the full clients. * Full backup is working again in full clients * Fixed out-of-memory crashes in full clients * Fixed an issue that significantly slowed down the sync in full clients * Indonesian translation P.S. Blackbytes are still being distributed.

byteball.fr is an alternative hub (paired with master byteball.org) and community witness operated on a 300Mbps unmetered link.
We need more support to our community-driven Witness: In your wallet settings hub set byteball.fr/bb

Who's bob?
