Clicking the link to chat with the transition bot doesnt seem to be working for me..? Undecided

There are 2 software versions on that page.
One is for [new testnet] and another is for the transition.

Check which version have you downloaded.
You need to download the 2nd version to participate in transition.

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

Did anyone try to sign a message via blockchain.info. It only works with imported addresses so I wasnt successful. What wallets do you use?

I exported a seed from blockchain.info, created electrum wallet using this seed and linked it to byteball by signing a message. Now my blockchain.info wallet is linked to byteball wallet. Whole process took a couple of minutes.

Thank you for your answer. I wasn't able to import my wallet generation seed via electrum. How did you export your seed via blockchain.info? I checked the faq but couldn't find the option. The new wallet if awful!

I used "Backup" menu in blockchain.info android app to save 12 words seed. You can do this in online wallet too from settings -> security. When I started Electrum first time in linux, it suggested to recover a wallet from  seed. I used the seed generated by blockchain.info, but I needed to chose a correct seed type (don't remember which one, but there were only two options). Now my electrum wallet is a mirror of my blockchain wallet.

What do expect here when there are wallets with 700-1000 btc and more linked?
Peanuts. doesn't seems a fair distribution.

Basically rich get richer. It's not like a free airdrop where everyone got same chance to receive based on task to solve.
I mean like some airdop where you need to do some work or task to apply (it means who got nothing got same chance as who got a lot)
It's more like "hey, i have 1000 btc, just press link address and you get more".

Not so much fair.

It's already centralized from who have more btc on his hand before launch. Just to not do nothing. You have more money then me, you get more byteball.

I also tried to use the 12 words seed but the program doesn't let me continue with progress. The 'Next' Button is unclickable. I think I will just move all btc to my new electrum wallet. I read its safer to use anyway.

You need to select BIP39 seed under options.

Do we have to use the latest version of the byteball wallet to participate? I downloaded the first non-testnet version but there's been a new one released since.

I would also like for everyone to be rich and carefree. Hopefully that day will come.
But for now, you better compare yourself with ~15 760 000 BTC that won't be linked in this first phase. Only ~0.25% of all existing BTC will be linked in phase 1.
Dont compare to few negligible whales that take part.
We need wide distribution for success. "Rich" compared to "poor" have somewhat lower chance of dumping all they have for short term, which would result in collapse. Good mix of both is better.

Man in real life you don't argue with these whales that have billions, do you? Why they have a such nice and big house overlooking the sea, why they have so many beautiful cars etc. You just live with it. Here is the same, you get your free and fair share and don't complain. I am thankful it is free at least, not like so many crap ICOs out there.

The wallet works really well, I'm definitely impressed with the dev(s) on this. Also, like the transition bot, very intuitive. Keep up the good work.

How do I pull it off without removing the funds from my ledger wallet and making them vulnerable? I create a new address, send my coins to it, then try to send a confirmation amount to the transition bot. Even with "Change address" setting unchecked on Electrum, by the time I'm sending the tip It's from a brand new address that has no association with the first and shows a 0 balance.

Have you sent micropayment to bot?
If so, what does the bot say?

EDIT
You have to do it the other way around:
send the confirmation amount first and after confirmation, send all your balance to this address!
Indeed

Thanks Gents, giving it a shot now eh. I was afraid to do this for some reason but now I realize it will work Smiley I'll let you know when its official.

Also, Herme, just to answer your question, I did send a micropayment to the bot, I just could never figure out how t oget the funds to an address and then send from said address. I will go ahead and try what is being said now Smiley

I recently read that there is still orignal whales of Bitcoin that called 20kBTC chump change at one stage, they even said they could move the markets easily with dumps..... to them this is just a big game where they sit back, relax and enjoy as their golden goose keeps laying solid gold eggs Undecided

I have downloaded the source from github livenet branch and compiled.
0.7.1 is the latest version there

It seems OTC trading will be held on Slack: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg17126855#msg17126855.

Also, an owner of a small exchange said they're working on listing byte: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg17240163#msg17240163.
