There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I tried to link my address but get this message:

I received 0.001085 BTC from 3AYFfR42De292UNMdfbc51va8Rz5P59sUH but this transaction looks like it was sent from an exchange, which is not allowed. Please send BTC only from a wallet that you own private keys for. If you think it was a mistake, please contact tonych@byteball.org.

This is not sent from an exchange but my private address where I have the private keys. Can you guys please fix that.

What wallet are you using?

Just a reminder.  If you linked your addresses before and then spent some of your bitcoins, the change might be moved to a new address and your linked balance would stand as 0 BTC.  Please check by chatting with the bot or at http://transition.byteball.org.  If that is the case, don't worry, just move the change back to your linked address.

I assume "Insert my address" just generates new Byteball addresses but they all stay connected to the same Wallet? Old addresses get recycled. In other words we should still receive Byteballs?

I'm using Multibit. After sending transaction to chatbot my btc address came out to have 0 btc balance.  I sent some btc to this address and overall wallet ballance has not changed (except minus transaction fee) and the linked address show now the newly sent btc. Should I now sent all my btc in Multibit wallet to this address? Is this something like sending bitcoin between different addresses in the same wallet? I'm a little wary not to make some fatal mistake.

Yes, you are sending bitcoin between different addresses in the same wallet.
As far as I can see from the part I've bolded above, you are doing the right thing. Now just send all the BTC to the linked address, exactly as you did above.

BTW, Multibit should be showing all your addresses in the "Request" tab (though that depends on which version you are using). Make sure you see your linked address there in the list of your "Receiving addresses"!

P.S. BTW, if you are using Multibit, why don't you just use the signature method..? Its easy and free to use for as many addresses as you want Smiley

Thanks for help. I'm not using sign method because I have never done that before and I'm not sure how it works. Additionally I'm a little afraid to input password to my wallet when having open the Byteball app at the same time (for security reasons). I have Byteball app running on Amazon AWS linux virtual machine and Multibit on my local linux machine. Can I sign the the address in this setup? Multibit HD is not showing anything on Request tab. Clicking request just creates a new receiving address and that's all.

Yes, but probably Ctrl-C Ctrl-V does not work. You must have email or other comunication method to the VM

Since 2 years https://cryptox.pl low fees, no KYC.

Can you link multiple BTC addresses to a single Byteball address?

Edit: seems like no and it broke the bot (just showing some red curly braces when I send it signed message).

Edit2: Nevermind it works with multiple BTC addresses per BB address.

I contacted Sasha Ivanov, founder of Waves, about the linked address 1NGfrU4YNp8dox1gLeUDyjD5Vpfck9no5j that has 4800 BTC from Waves ICO.  His response was that if the project is successful, he is going to distribute our coin as dividend to Waves holders.

So, even the largest (so far) whale in our distribution is a kind of collective investment entity.

Can you link multiple BTC addresses to a single Byteball address?

Yes you can, just repeat the process with as many BTC addresses as you want to link.

Transition bot temporarily down?

I'm getting [internal] connection closed when I try chatting with the bot.

What people say and what people do are sometimes not the same thing.

Should have been nulled like the other huge wallets. Project is destroyed before it starts. The enriching the richest automatically does not go over well with most of the crypto community.

I am using the older version of Multibit... It has much more control and info shown... As I often find, older SW turn out to be better Undecided It looks like almost all SW developers in every single field are degrading their products to fit some specific kind of users (probably so called "millenials"), who don't care to understand what they are doing... Ok, thats just a unrelated rant.. Smiley

Yes, you can sign addresses while having Bitcoin wallet and Bytewall app on different machines. Thats exactly what I did...
But probably its better for you just to send the BTC to the linked address now, as you already started that way.
