It is written in the backup menu that just the wallet seed is not enough.
Is not that the purpose of a seed?  upgrade yur wallet..if yu havent remove ur wallet after linking..there should be no problem..chat witj bot and exe cmd "sold" in chat box(this does work no more)..to see yur balance. |

How do I recover a wallet from a seed ?
It is written in the backup menu that just the wallet seed is not enough.  If you made a backup, simply replace the folder C:\Users\youareusername\AppData\Local\byteball with you old backup. When should I see my bytes?

About seed, see here: https://github.com/byteball/byteballByteball uses a single extended private key for all wallets, BIP44 is used for wallet address derivation. There is a BIP39 mnemonic for backing up the wallet key, but it is not enough. Private payments and co-signers of multisig wallets are stored only in the app's data directory, which you have to back up manually:
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/byteball
Linux: ~/.config/byteball
Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball

After update to 1.0 I got new address.
How about the distribution? My BTC is linked to the byte ball address in version 0.7
Is it mandatory to upgrade to 1.0? Or if I use the 0.7 it is OK? I don't want to mess up the addresses I linked. When distribution will happen? |

Seed is not enough as there are private assets (blackbyteballs) will not be covered. You must follow the backup process to back up the whole data folder, many posts gave the details, just do a search. |

I backed up, but then just installed new version over old one, didn't restore or anything. Two of us in #byteball on freenode, btw, for others who don't slack. |

I backed up, but then just installed new version over old one, didn't restore or anything. Two of us in #byteball on freenode, btw, for others who don't slack. installing new wallet should keep the existing addresses. I just did an upgrade from 0.7 to 1.0, there's no problem at all, everything is working fine. For backups, follow the details at https://github.com/byteball/byteball#byteball-backups-and-recovery |
