i syn 50%, and i close the wallet,net time when i open the wallet,it start from 0% to syn,why?

Maybe it requires 100% sync to be able to saved the entire chain in the beginning.

but byteball.sqlite is not resetting from begining. i mean right now my byteball.sqlite size is around 900MB from couple days ago, but since sync progress took alot longer (1 day only 30%) i need to shutting down my laptop. when i launch byteball again, it's start from 0% and byteball.sqlite size growing to > 900MB

Hello

I try to send byteballs from my wallet, but I receive this message (in red):

"Impossible to send payment: [internal] connection closed".

Can anybody give me an advise?

Thank you very much

Is this a permanent error? Sometimes (especially on Android for me), I get this error when there seems to be connection/syncing problems, however it disappears once the device seems synced ... My advice would be to just retry ...

Thank you for the advice: it was the good one!

Use the lite wallet option during installation. I have run by Byteball lite wallet on three different devices and never have problems ..
Also common problem: the virus scanner (disable)

It is normal, the % shows the percentage of the work left.

Yes, Byteball lite wallet runs excellent on PC, mobile phone and tablet. I have never had a wallet sync so fast.

Hey folks. This looks like a really interesting project. I'm keen to see where it goes.

I've got a couple of questions:

1. There will be or are 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes, so that's 1,000,000 GBYTES, correct?
2. Are blackbytes traded anywhere? What will be the coin supply of blackbytes?
3. Do I need to link a Bitcoin address for the next distribution round, if I have already linked that address for the last round?

TIA.

@BoscoMurray

1. yep, you are right https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/byteball/
2. there is a channel in slack for trading blackbyte  (trading_blackbytes), ask for an invite!
3. the link addresses stay, but you have to check that your BTC are in these linled addresses. E.g. 4 BTC linked in one address, u make a small withdraw to another address there will be 0 BTC in this linked
address. So check ur linked addresses right in time https://byteball.org -> just go to "chat with transition bot"

Byteball can store the public records that need to be accessible and very secure at the same time.  Im not talking about .pdfs or something big, but hashes of the important documents e.g. contracts, patents, algorithms etc. It can be the ultimate resource to prove ownership or integrity. Paying 1$ per 1Kb to store this important data tamperproof and for eternity wouldn't seem too unrealistic. That would price 1GB = 1000$ and give a total valuation of exact 1,000,000,000$  Cool

1$ per KByte would mean $1.000.000 per 1GByte. If you meant 1$ per 1MByte then I wasn't too far off with my 66,63ct/MByte.  Wink

Yes, you are right!

Byteball has such a huge potential. We can brainstorm ideas about what you can do with a "blockchain" (yeah its really a DAG) that can store arbitrary data.
It is like the HDD equivalent of Ethereum. Maybe it can be combined with Ethereum? The "world computer" needs memory after all. Ethereum smart contracts reading and writing data from Byteball?

Byteball has its own smart contracts, but better with declarative style and not-fully turing complete (but maybe by accident as many other things).

You can make an uncensorable twitter, with built-in pay-for-each-byte-of-your message.

It's pretty important if these smart contracts are Turing complete or not. "Maybe by accident" is not what users need to hear. Can the contracts invoke other contracts (and/or themselves)? An answer to this question will give the answer to turing-completeness question.

Within something 'Turing Complete' there's a need for unlimited storage, right. How would that ever be achieved by any project?

In cryptoindustry people omit "quasi-" part.

Aha, interesting. So then, according to you, why would Byteball not be turing complete?
