Byteball and Iota are much different. People naively think they are comparable because they both use DAG.

Iota is ready for IOT use, byteball is not.
Byteball relies on trust based witnesses. This can be good for government compliance but it is definitely not good for a crypto. As far as I know, everything revolves around a few trusted nodes, right?

Maybe on top of something more decentralized, byteball tech can be useful.

Take it easy. Market cap for any coin is virtual someway as the whole  supply  of that coin can not be paid for the current price. Price is in inverse proportion to the single buy volume. In other words no entity will pay the current price for the whole supply.

Iota is not ready for IoT and wont ever be, an IoT cant do the Prof of Work required to send transactions, iota devs talked about letting another trusted node do the transacting, duh, any coin can do that. They had this dumb idea of making a Jinn coprocessor, like hey just add another microcontroller on your microcontroller to have "zero fee" transactions.

Byteball can and has been ported as a light client to an IoT chip, something iota devs hadnt even heard of they think a raspberry pi or smartphone is an iot device.

What Byteball can learn from iota is marketing, getting nice words from Big Names, signing partnerships and paying for it by premine/presale of the tokens, just like any other ICO.

The witnesses dont have to be trusted individually, only to not conspire together, if they do the worst they can do is stall the network.

So I backed up my wallet on an older PC, then installed on a new PC and restored the wallet there. Deleted on the older PC. I didn't receive any Byteballs this round, even though my BTC were previously linked on the older PC. Is this normal?

I have dug a bit more and it seems on on 6/5 I sent all BTC internally in Bitcoin Core from two of my addresses to a third addess of my Core wallet that I previously linked in Byteball (16KyMEmTcPqDbYa7CCARsgeo5ajNeB1GjD). I wanted to consolidate all the BTC in one address I think.

Now the BTC appear as change in my wallet but aren't visible outside on a Blockchain explorer. Well that sucks.

I guess I'll have to send the BTC to another wallet and back to Bitcoin Core just so that the BTC become visible again. DAMN.

You may have your bitcoin still, but not in either of the 2 addresses you have linked.

Try harder and be patient, Tony is very busy. Seems to be that some guys don't have received their Blackbytes yet. For some guys it worked to leave the wallet running in the foreground, suddenly the Blackbytes appeared (the send tx will be automatically repeated).

Well it seems it was the other way around, the Bitcoin were sent from that address to two other "internal" addresses of the Core wallet. I'm no Bitcoin expert it seems   Anyway, I have now activated the coin control feature in the core wallet and can see in which addresses the unspent BTC are located.

I have also been able to link all my addresses with unspent BTC to the Byteball wallet and should be good to go for the next distribution...

No problem.  I welcomed the test in finding out what happened.

Just remember that if you use your coins, then change may go to another address.  Maybe just wait until the next airdrop is about to happen and make sure your coins are in registered addresses.
