Is it normal that recovery from full backup does not restore subsequent (made after backup) transactions?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I think it'd be better to stop airdroping for Bitcoin addresses.
There is already wide byteball distribution. Those bitcoin holders don't care (free money for them) they just dump

Price would be stable today

That is very sweeping generalization .... I am a BTC holder and participated in the airdrop.
I have no intention of selling what I was given.
Byteball is a fascinating project that going forward should do very well imho.

Bytes tx are stored in the public ledger but Blackbytes tx are only stored locally, so a restore only brings back tx before the backup.

I ran byteball software on offline air-gapped computer with disconnected hard drive to generate byteball address for airdrop.  I did a full wallet backup with password, then encrypted the wallet backup file (encrypted twice).  I then linked the public byteball address (generated offline) to bitcoin addresses on online computer.

Are you saying that when I restore from full backup, I will not get the blackbytes because the backup was made offline (no tx before the backup cuz it was only ever offline)?

Yes, you must make a backup after every Blackbyte transaction if you want to make sure you can restore everything.

But BB from the distribution are still being send out, so if you wait a while chances are good that your wallet still catches them. If they don't come in within a few days (keep your wallet running) you can contact our chief developer to resend it to you.

maybe I'm confused--if you're offline when somebody sends you blackbytes, then the blackbytes just disappear into the ether?

Not really.it means that if you do a full backup before you receive BlackBytes, then receive them and recover your wallet from that old backup you will only find the BB you had untill the moment you made the backup.

So if I'm offline for 5 minutes, and during that 5 minute time period, somebody sends me blackbytes, do they disappear into the ether?

If the blackbytes are received as soon as I come back online, how is that different than if restore the same wallet while offline on another computer (then go online on computer w/restored wallet)?

In my case also balance of bytes becomes zero. Backup was made before b/bb exchange with smart contract and restored after it. I exchanged not all bytes so it is notable that balance becomes zero. In history the chunk of bytes that should stay in my wallet appears as 'moved' to some unknown to me address.

Thanks in advance.

From what you guys have said, and from the whitepaper:

Quote
When users pay in blackbytes or other private assets, they   have   to send private payloads and absolutely need devices that can communicate.      They   need   to know each other’s device addresses   before they even learn each other’s payment addresses.  Once their devices have established   communication,   the   payee can   send   his payment address to the payer via chat message.

It seems that anybody who is offline when Tony distributes blackbytes will not receive them?

I guess I should have 1 computer always online but make it multisig with other signers offline?

No, I've received blackbytes aftter much more time offline.

I'm still not exactly sure how it works. I am going to experiment with it though, and will share my findings.

As far as I understand blackbytes, it would be a really cool feature to some how be able to print blackbytes from my wallet on a piece of paper, making it a single-use anonymous paper currency.

Doesn't make sense, and I received them offline last time.

This time not yet, but guess Blackbytes weren't distributed yet?

I still haven't received my GB or my BB from this round  Huh  I thought at least the GB would be in by now.

If you didn't get GB, I think something's wrong. Based on posts, looks like everyone that linked up properly already got paid. You may have sent your BTC too late or removed too early.

No I didn't receive any airdrop for GB held in my byteball wallet.  These are the same GB which i held last distribution round and received airdrop.  There's no reason i shouldn't have gotten it this time since the GB were never moved.

I even chatted with the transition bot beforehand it told me the GB and BB that I would receive.  As of right now I have not received any GB or BB for Bytes held in my wallet or linked btc Huh

That is a wrong assumption. I have never been online when Byteballs nor BlackByteballs were distributed. I received all distributions by now. I guess you did something wrong. Probably you did not send the Byteballs to the given address in the chat bot message. This is a very common mistake many do at the beginning. On my first distribution I thought I did everything right but I only got Byteball and no Blackbyteballs. Then I learned I have to transfer my Byteball to the given address in order to receive BlackByteballs, too.

From what you guys have said, and from the whitepaper:

Quote
