may be airdrops should be at random dates with random percentage like this month airdrop 5% next month 8% following month 15%...etc that way nobody will ask when the airdrop is and nobody will dump their coins only normal selling and buying of the coin

I think the airdrops are their original "marketing" for the coin. Creates awareness, even though also some confusion. Those fixed dates are not a bad thing imo, even though it does create volatility...

Might be a good idea to stop dropping to BTC holders completely. A lot of those are selling immediately, causing spikes and doubts. I think the original aim was reached (involve BTC users).
GBYTE holders could be rewarded more this way as well.

If we want to create extra awareness, maybe a drop to ETH holders could be an idea... Would get some more people looking into BYTEBALL...
Another option could be bounties/sig campaign.

Website isn't too bad, but not really "flashy" enough to impress new people.

Or daily distribution to randomly determined addresses.

It is better to keep the same ratio and same date so people will know beforehand.
I don't think so. But don't worry about it, those responsible for the coin are not very farsighted.

Even if this is obviously hard to understand: The coin would become known by itself if you could finally use it.

I just connected my btc address with byteball for the next airdrop, having a old ledger wallet I can't sign a message so I've sent to the bot the small fee required to claim the address.

The btc were received but it says that my address has 0 btc on it, when obviously it doesn't? Should I just move my bitcoin to a Electrum wallet and claim it from there?

can I claim the byteball for the previous airdrop?

Can you go to a casino and bet on the Football game that happened last week?

You guys got your airdrop for this month?

There was no distribution this month.  Read one page back or the very first page of the thread, or the front page on byteball.org.  - No distribution this month.

Move your bitcoin from your change address back to your link BTC address.
Basically, your ledger made the small payment to prove you own / link the BTC address they WERE in, but in turn move the rest of those coins to a new BTC address of yours.   So, byteball sees that you proved you own the original address; however, it doesn't know the new address you sent the rest of your coins to.  Simply move them back now and byteball will see that coins are then in the address.

may be airdrops should be at random dates with random percentage like this month airdrop 5% next month 8% following month 15%...etc that way nobody will ask when the airdrop is and nobody will dump their coins only normal selling and buying of the coin
Or daily distribution to randomly determined addresses.

No, that would be a lottery and it lead to all kinds of scandal.   Right now we can prove amounts being sent out and to linked BTC addresses, etc.  If 'random' then we wouldn't know if it was truely random or a DEV putting in his 'random' address.  Also things like moving bitcoin around by such a person in order to his the 'random' address again later and it would be difficult to prove a thing.

I like the current method where simply owning bitcoin doesn't get someone a lot of coins.  Distribution based on byteball holdings is better as it encourages hodling and purchasing of coins.  I do think this method will prove to see a jump in price right before the next distribution (maybe a week prior), in order to get more holdings, but I also think the price will drop right before the snapshot (within a day prior) as people fear the normal after distro price fall.

Well, this idea is quite brilliant actually, but it can be improved. You could also split the airdrops in more little pieces so that sometimes all monthly airdrop comes in one day while other months it is slip up to X number of mini-airdrops. This way people wouldn't be able to play the speculation game even after having got the monthly airdrop Smiley

I am game for this idea or something similar as well. Byteball is too good of a project to go down like this and I dont know what the market is thinking. This slight alteration to the airdrop would

ensure that holders hold and that if dumpers do dump they shouldnt be allowed in on future drops neither. Something to consider I think.

Random airdrops don't really make any sense. People will dump anyway: I think there could have been better ways for distributing byteballs but this is a bit like bitcoin. In the long term we will see this coin real value. Most of the people who had bitcoin in the early days sold BTC at 1$, 10$, 100$, 1000$
There was no ICO here: this is already a plus on the long term

As far as I know there is no airdrop this month, am I right ? I hope starting from next month that paused with be lifted up and that free distribution will take place once again. It seems that old formula was very good at least that was playing speculative role on exchanges to keep the market moving heavily.

This idea wont work.

Tonych want distribute coins fairly between holders and btc holders.
That means % which distribution happens must match amount of btc in total.
So thats why random 8% or 5% would not work.

please go to byetaball.org and read how distribution is calculated.
Its not random % , all is done to match btc cap.

The problem here is that you have to link a normal BTC address since the airdrop can't read segwit addresses. What if it's just cheaper to buy from the exchanges rather than paying BTC TX fees to your linked address?

My address is segwit (nano s) managed to link with a small transaction (0.0008 btc) but couldn't link by signing a message, transition bot reads my balance fine and I received some bytes on the last airdrop

dont know if thats a problem. hiring 10 developers would make more sense to make the price fly. gui developers are crusial i think.

Buying Byteball on exchanges could be a much better strategy than obtaining and holding large amounts of BTC just to obtain Byteball in the Airdrops. The exchange prices have gone down a lot and there should be ample opportunity to make some good bargain purchases if you believe in this coin. Remember, when there is blood in the streets......

Yes the idea is excellent but so far it does not bring any profit looking at the price drop! Sorry I was hoping for the best!
