What should I do first for the Airdrop? Download the wallet? And What is it that Byteball can do that Steem cannot? I'm curious

not only download  but also install it  and  to be aligible you should have steem account created before  July 12, 2018 and your steem reputation should be  as high as 30, at least. Byteball can do a lot of things like contracts, coin sending via txt messages etc.
I used to get coins when I was dealt. But it looks like this distribution I did not have time, I now very sorry about it. And of course this distribution will certainly attract attention to the project of old and new users.

Up until recently my rotating media disk drive could keep up with the traffic on my full node wallet.

With the new version I can no longer keep up.

I would like to move the data files to my SSD.

Can I get instructions for moving the data files?  I am hoping it is something like:

1) Stop the program.
2) Copy the data files from where they are to a location on the SSD (which files to copy, where are they?)
3) Edit a file somewhere to point to the new data file location (what file to edit, what to edit?)
4) Restart the program
5) Catch up

If possible, I do not what to have to reinstall from scratch on the SSD and sync from the beginning.

The location of Byteball's data folder depends on your operating system:

• Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\byteball
• MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/byteball
• Linux: ~/.config/byteball

This path cannot be changed. You can exchange the files there or you can try creating a symlink.

It is my opinion that too many crypto projects are at each other's throats. It was refreshing to see a project like Byteball, running on a completely different consensus algorithm, venture to reach out and work together with Steem. I haven't seen anything like it. I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Yes. The Steem community is pretty big too, which means that Byteball's community has just expanded as a result of the airdrop.

The bigger a coin's community the more likely it will become successful.
I've also been paying attention to this project for a long time and still holding the coin for a long time, I'm quite happy to see this coin in the top 100 again now, because before they had fallen outside the top 100 in coinmarketcap. I congratulate those of you who still trust this project. Hopefully the community continues to grow in order to become stronger.

I didn't see what coin you made the bet for, but if it was BTC, I highly doubt a relatively small site like Binaryballs would have anywhere near the sum of money required to actively affect price development. And to add to the unlikelyness, if the bet is for down price, the loss in BTC would be significant too.

It looks like it's time to buy a Byteball anyway after the growth of Btc the rest of the coins begin to pull behind it. I think very soon will begin full-scale growth and we will all be in chocolate.  Smiley

I created my finances in byteball, and I needed to get the free airdrop with steemit as it met certain requirements, so I adopted all the steps to the finish, by the end I got a note having said that you are attested, however in my registration I never got information about the airdrop and had not been credited with the bytes to my account

Yes, the bug I am reporting happens on 2.4.1.  Since there is no 2.4.2 yet maybe he is trying to say that hopefully this bug we are both having will be fixed soon in 2.4.2?

His response is cryptic but what I believe is that we are both running 2.4.1 full node, he is Win64, I am Win32, we are both getting the same error.

I cannot find BYTEBALL on CoinMarketCap, instead Byteball Bytes (GBYTE) is found.
- Total Supply: 1,000,000 GBYTE
- Price $143.49 USD
I guess 1GBYTE = 1 billion BYTEBALL.

Yes, the bug I am reporting happens on 2.4.1.

I have what seems to be a sync issue on 2.4.1 full node fwiw, also using Win64. My symptom is that syncing appears to freeze on July 13. After some hours stuck on the same clock time, I'll stop and restart it to find that the sync clock has advanced by a couple of hours at restart but goes no farther until another restart - rinse, repeat.

Are you using a HDD or a SSD for your data files?

If HDD then it may be too slow.  I found that until recently my HDD worked fine but with some of the most recent changes it was no longer fast enough to keep up so I switched over to my SSD and it started making good progress on catching up until this exception happened.

Waiting on 2.4.2 so I can get going again...
