Sectarians tend to go around the world with activated perception filters.
They see and hear only what they want.

One of them asks what a better distribution could look like, but the answer is a few posts above... and in many contributions of the past.
Arrogance and ignorance.

As a reminder:
"Adoption can only be achieved by a product that can also be used.
The first step would have been to ensure the usability of the product.

In the consequence then a meaningful distribution, which orients itself exactly at this use. Distribution therefore only to those who take part in economic processes, purchase and sale of goods and services against bites. Of course in a market segment which was created for Cryptos: the unregulated market."

well said man and that is true to a great extent, unless a project has that infrastructures and products that call for its demand and used, it can never be well distributed, and studying the market is important too.

Whales are completely useless for the development of a currency. They have the opposite effect.

The distribution was and is a disaster.

So, super confusing now, which does make sense then? Distributing large amounts to few people at once (Bitcoin moon drops) or distributing small amounts to lot of people over long period (attestation and referral rewards for various attestation bots)?
You are confused because you are toxic. You don't want to see anything outside of your little echo chamber.
Distributing small amounts to lot of people (Bitcoin moon drops) and distributing small amounts to byterbal holders. The last will allow to retain the community and increasing the network effect, until more use cases will come. Then when people will use and love this coin they will have less reasons for changing it on another money, you can remove this method.
The fact that you put coins in contracts absolutely nothing changes. You do not build an economy, do not increase the network effects. You simply create deferred selling pressure.
You replaced bitcoiners, the largest and most influential community, to steemeans... shitposters board, full of bots, with abandoned coin. And you enjoy it. You are simply inadequate.
This coin deserves its fate.

What small amounts and what "lot of people" are you talking about? http://transition.byteball.org

70 000 BTC was linked to 70 000 addresses. Every address is not a unique user, 65% of all circulation was distributed.

Already 20 000 actual real people have got 20usd worth of bytes while they needed to spend 8 usd, so what those Steem users got is peanuts compared to moon drops https://byteball.co/attestors

Byteball has around 1000 active users daily and you think that it should distribute the rest of 22% with this same shitty method that has got it to 1000 active users? Where are all those 70 000 Bitcoin addresses (not users) who should be using Byteball at the moment?

Byteball has more infrastructure than many other cryptocurrencies - have you even see what you can do with the wallet?
Byteball is lacking user adoption because of 50% bytes were dropped to address who didn't convert to users.

I say that the distribution should have been reduced to small amounts, not that it was small amounts.

They gone, because Tony removed airdrop to balls holders before the network got use cases to support needs of all these holders. They gone, because Tony removed the only reason of hold. Removed and not replaced.

Bob - i have a balls, i hold it because every moon i get more balls. It increasing my purchasing power. I want to become millionaire someday.
Alisa - i have bitcoins, i hold it because i want to become millionaire someday. Many merchants around me accept bitcoins so i can hold my value in bitcoin, increase my purchasing power and spend money without extra frictions.
.....
Tony comes to Bob - am remove moon drops.
Bob - Why to hold? Where i can spend my balls?
Tony - new bot, steem shitposters can verify their shit accounts.
Bob - Why to hold? Any merchants?
Tony - new bot, now you can verify your mail....
Bob -  Tony, looks like you made a mistake removing airdrop. No reasons to hold.
Tony - new bot, quiz bot. Solve a quiz and win 2 cents.
Bob  - Tony stop ignoring the community, am going to sell this shit.

I have been waiting for more than a year to sell my products for bites/blackbites. But there is still no marketplace for it, and such a marketplace is probably not yet in sight.
I strongly doubt that this is the direction in which they are thinking at all.

Twitter:
"(Japanese post) Byteball news in #Japanese for our growing community in #Japan "

Nothing's growing at all.
If something were to grow there, the price would also rise. But it can't, because the currency have no value.

Yeah airdrop to OB merchants and users with balls or even black balls integration would be sweet. Purse integration would be nice as well.

There was never 70 000 users, distribution was changed because it was same few people who every month sold their bytes to BTC, so they could get more during next moon. Byteball needs users, not few hodlers who sit on their byteballs. Hodlers are not users.

Or a completely own market place, integrated as a function in the wallet which starts the browser.

The witnesses would be ideal for this (as long as they are not limited in number, routed through TOR and randomly connected to the net).

The "cashback" action for merchants could be ingeniously integrated. Customers get a discount, traders get more attraction, and since they get the discount refunded through distribution, they don't suffer any loss, which means that more traders become aware of this project.

More traders = more products = more customers = even more traders = even more customers ...

If then there would be the possibility to exchange Fiat directly into bites/blackbites (of course also integrated into the wallet) all other projects would be quickly outflanked.

For the development of the past mischief with which people like me got annoyed, there would still have been time.

So, where are those HODLers now?

Here.

Anyone with a campaign ad in their signature -- for an organization with which they are not otherwise affiliated -- is automatically deducted credibility points.

That's what bite ball fanboys want: "to make money". - Of course $, €, ... Roll Eyes

It only increases speculation, but not use and certainly not adoption.

And where do the sold bites finally accumulate?

this makes that 22% is still left to distribute. Only difference is that Byteball tries to distribute it fairly, but Bitcoin basically distributes to those already rich guys who have the most computing power.
meanwhile Max Kordek ceo of lisk own the biggest individual byterbal wallet Cheesy

seriously, do you see how to get a link to see their wallet or one of them from Max Kordek, I know about the LISK project, I think it is also good news when many big people hold BYTEBALL too
https://explorer.byteball.org/#XCQ3LC6BSRGLPKC6LDQBTHZBKHLGIS5B?asset=bytes  62242 gbyte.
https://blog.lisk.io/financial-report-2016-7e68cdd13b12
oh, thank you for your link information, I have recalled that after some time I have seen the ICO LISK proceeds to get a free byteball distribution by holding BTC, I think it is not only LISK that there are even some other ICO holders participating to claim this byteball distribution

Not to beat a dead house, but this whole emphasis on "fair distribution" by tarmo and shit talking about Bitcoin is laughable.

You know what's not fair? Announcing a distribution schedule and mechanism, then pulling the rug out from under it two or three times - first cancelling BTC air drops, then delaying Bytes drops, and finally abandoning the original distribution mechanism completely.

You know what else isn't fair? Dribbling out coins to people that have access to shit loads of crappy CPUs (WCG) and account farmers on steem. That's really unfair to me as I only have like five computing devices and think steem is a swamp of shit tier content born out of a scam.

You know what is fair? Announcing a distribution mechanism and schedule and standing by it like it's etched in stone. In ten years Bitcoin hasn't changed its mechanism or schedule at all. You think it would be more "fair" to halt mining and pass out remaining BTC to WCG bot nets and steem lords?

Another one who doesn't know what fair means. Nobody is entitled to get the bytes and if distribution doesn't work then it needs to be fixed, not just continue with a broken one. Bitcoin is laughable, was designed to be decentralized currency, but thanks to a broken distribution system, becomes more centralized with every day. Byteball is moving in other direction, started as centralized and becomes more decentralized every day.

Another one with zero attention span. Do you realize that Bitcointalk is not about only Bitcoins, but about all cryptocurrencies. And this is not a Bitcoin thread, but Byteball thread, where everything gets compared to the big old Bitcoin.
Do you get trigger by single words without understanding the whole sentance?
Didn't you notice that it was a reply using?

What are you guys smoking? I just realized that this could be a reason why you are talking nonsense.

So, where are those HODLers now?

Here.

Here

hodler and still buying more now and then.

I invest more just because one of the only persons I know of that has a proven deep knowledge of CC told me that byteball was the one of the only projects that had interested him since bitcoin in a big way.

Tonych knows his stuff and perhaps so do these other ones but these are not people friendly and should be confined to working with machines only.

You need an interface between them and a community of people.

Can anbody tell me what this error message of the Byteball wallet means means and how to solve it?  :  http://
"Uncaught exception: error: message encrypted to unknown key, device 0XU..., len=140. The error might be caused by restoring from an old backup or using the same keys on another device."

This error causes the wallet to immediately close after confirmation so I cannot do anything further now.
Before this error I changed the Hub address from byteball.fr/bb to byteball.org/bb which was used on my mobile phone

Try restarting couple more times, it maybe because you use really old backup or your wallet got somehow out of sync while byteball.fe/hub went down.

If this keeps happening, are you using same backup on multiple devices? You shouldn't, multi-device wallets are for that.
