Yes, just install the latest wallet app and replace the folder contents where you copied these, the data folder and database files are still called byteball, no change in that.
That's a good start! You seem to have full node, so I hope you have SSD drive because converting that to latest version can take 2-4 hours on SSD drive and many days on HDD.
Once the converting is done, it needs to catch up with syncing, which can take a day on SSD or week on HDD. If you decide to not want the full node anymore, you could catch up with syncing and then transfer all your assets to light node wallet.
Much easier would be recovering with seed words on light node, but that won't restore private assets (blackbytes), smart-contracts and multi-sig wallets. So if you have those, don't restore with seed words.
hanks for the headsup... guess I'm in for a "world of wait" then... I do have an SSD, but I originally symlinked the data storage from "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\byteball" to other storage due to space concerns... that other storage is an HDD. And yes, unfortunately I went the "full node"... I've kinda been regretting it ever since tbh... I think I'll setup up a new light node and move things around once I get this all synced up again. Also make sure you update your witness list, it has change quite lot, so after a while the wallet will run out of options to find parent units.
Thanks for the heads-up.

If you have 70GB free on SSD, maybe you could copy it to SSD and do the upgrade and syncing on it instead? The fresh full sync is only 50GB at the moment, but since you are upgrading from existing full node, it might grow to 70GB.

Yeah... I'm not so "storage space poor" right at this point in time... so I installed 3.0.3, started it up to create folders etc on the main SSD drive and then shut it down. After it was shutdown, I copied over the files from the old HDD storage to SSD, then started Obyte back up. At that point, I got two messages. The first was that it was updating the database and would take hours... the second was mostly obscured by the database update message, but eventually I deduced that it was actually a "fatal exception" about using an old backup or keys from another device... when I clicked "OK", the wallet shutdown. I restarted, and it gave me the "updating the database" message again, but no exception... after several hours, it finished, showed all my old balances (including BlackBytes and the probably defunct TitanCoin and SilentNotary tokens) and is now currently syncing away: I might symlink it all back to the HDD once it has finished syncing. Will have to see how much SSD space I have left after it's all done.

Roadmap is beauty. Beauty? Well all they plan to do this year is release electronic cigarettes under Obyte brand name. This is the only thing mentioned publicly which, they say, will help motivate node owners to not shut their nodes since profits from cigarette sells will go directly to nodes. If u run a node u are entitled to get either a small chunk of cigarette merchandise, or alternatively, a portion of profits from a cigarette stall run by Obyte. This marketing strategy is odd and very unconventional, to say the least.

Are you sure you read the same 2020 product plan? It's not a marketing strategy, it's a product plan.

Every time I 'check-in' on Obyte I'm amazed.
If there is another project out there that is delivering as much, and is so under the radar, I'd like to hear about it. Obyte deserves to be trading much, much higher.
Keep up the great work Obyte team.

I see Obyte has started with charity thing again. Sure, the activity of PoloPolo that partnered with Obyte foundation is good for citizens of Venezuela, but what does that mean for Obyte trading? Polopolo, you mean that mexican comedian guy? If thats him, then what do you expect comedian should do that it be relevant to crypto or trading at all? Your mad lol. I have known a comedian ass like him, he ended up being mauled by public in a bar he was performing in. His stand-up speech was somewhat off and wonky so ppl in the bar beat him up and then ate of his immovable body. I cant lie.

It's not Obyte charity, https://pollopollo.org/ is charity project built using Obyte. I don't think it's small donations will affect over-all trading volumes or price. GBYTE price seems to move depending on rest of the cryptocurrency market health.

With the existing team, this project will never come back. The potential would be there, but it is not being used. It is so sad. An example: communication. Especially the website. Nothing is going on! I'm not the only one who notes that the website gives away a lot of potential. About 19 months ago I wrote a critical post on the website ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg46793890#msg46793890). 19 months ago and the website still looks like this! "Simplicity is beauty" - ok - but the website is just too slow. In my professional career I have never seen a website with a Google Pagespeed index of 9. NINE out of 100! Check it out for yourself: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?hl=de&url=https%3A%2F%2Fobyte.orgI hope Tony will radically transform his team. In the current line-up and with the focal points set by this team, the project will never come back. Good luck, Tony!

In the current line-up and with the focal points set by this team, the project will never come back. Good luck, Tony! It's a single page landing page, what do you expect there to be going on? Fireworks? Maybe you are looking at some odd translation of that page that still uses the original design. There is nothing wrong with the English landing page, I have the slowest package (10/10) that my ISP offers, the DOM loads in 2 seconds and all the content on that page in 7 seconds. Which is totally fine, because by the time you read the first sentence, all content has been loaded. All the tools like Google PageSpeed are good as long as you understand what and why it reports, there are many things there that doesn't apply or would not have much effect when solved. There is a new website being built as we speak that doesn't use the single page format anymore, but separates the content to multiple pages. Your claim that nothing is going on the website is totally false, there is so much added there over time that there is too much content for single page. You are complaining about the speed of the page because there has been so much going on, everything that Obyte can do has been added to single page. Having worked in digital agencies over 5 years, it's difficult to take you seriously if you think that getting an expensive web design will magically turn everything around. The goal of the website is to communicate information, which Obyte website does, but has out-grown because there is too much information for a single page. The goal of the website IS NOT to be redesigned to latest trends all the time, so it would look like there is something going on. Single page website is not a cheap Wordpress theme, it has been a trend for website design with little content since 2012.

That was exactly the answer I expected and you can see why the current team will fail. Self-criticism - never. The others are stupid. We are not. Three years in one of the fastest industries and no website update. Sure - doesn't matter. The problems of obyte.org are so so so obvious (on so many levels) and you write to me that I have no idea?! Can you use a network monitor? You mean several hundred KB of JS and CSS are still fine today. Sure. Yes, Google Pagespeed has no meaning at all, fore sure... Seven seconds is a good value, fore sure... I am so tired of these wanna-be web developers with no knowledge about how important a fast website is. Once again... Good luck, Tony. Press restart.

What are you talking about? Obyte is just 3.5 years old and it's a second website that has been live and we are working on 3rd website. It's some noob "investors" dream who hope that price will pump with new website design, there are many like you on all projects. And when talking about new content, that has also been constantly added there, that's the whole reason why the website has gone slower - so there has been things "going on". People looking at tools like Google Pagespeed and not understanding what it says are wanna-be developers. Your criticism is worthless, it's just talk. 19 months since your last criticism about explorer and where is the new design for explorer? If you think that something ain't good, stop talking and make it better or even better, build a new one. Some community members have done that - built a new explorer from ground up https://obyte.io/

OByte is in a good way. Website is perfect. I like it! Not a need to have complicated site, and won't working product. A site should give information. I think, https://obyte.org/ is a simple and good site. Please don't let your work disturbed, simple develop and test professional - as before. Many thanks for your work!
