How can we avoid the bankruptcy of your own faucet?

There are lot of factors you need to consider

- pay within the revenue you do generate from showing ads
- do not allow proxy/VPN users
- have strong protections against bots
- pay competitive competitive rates for referral and limit referrals
- promote your faucet with low cost traffic exchange services

This list must be long....more to be added.

The almost important thing to preventing bankruptcy is getting good pay from ads and not getting sucked dry by bots.

If you use Google Adsense, you are taking a gamble with the ads since Google Adsense does not like faucets. However, if you don't get banned, you get decent earnings. Some other alternatives that pay well are anonymous ads, chitika, and mellow ads.

To prevent bots, a captcha is not enough. You need to either add antibot links, simple math problem, honeypots, of make the user create an account. Also add some PHP code to track the users and IP, and if there was a bot, you would know. Search up the antibot ideas on a search engine and you would find much more information.

Very much useful information, you seems like you must be a faucet owner. Your information are shaking my idea of owning a faucets. Because now I understand, owning a faucet would be really hard and challenging than working with many faucets as dealing with different type of abusers will be really a big head ache.

The bigger issue imo is that even if you do succeed, it's likely the pay you'd receive would be miniscule.
Simply working a normal job would likely be more effective at earning money than pouring so much time into a faucet site.

No longer active on bitcointalk, however, you can still reach me via PMs if needed.

This is a valid observation. I would rather spend my time on something with more potential.

Even banks can't to avoid bankruptcy and how you are talking such thing about a faucet? But I will give you some advices.

1. Make a website with good design
2. Make it also suitable for mobile phones
3. It's the main thing that you must do, rank your website in search engines.
4. Choose a high paying advertisement company, for example google's adsense (This is greatest but work only with white methods)
5. Pay normally and make an affilate system.

Your advices is good, but this is more theorical information. Good design costs expensive if you can't create it yourself. Google Adsense is not an option for faucets anymore. If you have faucet with Adsense, it's only time question when you can get ban. Other ad networks can't cover Adsense earnings
What about payement rates.  You have follow earnings from ads and how much your faucet paid out. And by this you need to adjust rewards to stay on profit.
And most important is to stop bots. It's never ending fight. Block proxies, vpn, bitcoin addresses and other stuff. It's hard and tiring work. And if you don't know how to fight with bots, better to don't have faucet.

I do believe you should balance what you are earning with the money you are spending, having a big or small reward will just be a step how fast you wanna grow, or stand at faucet industry, but the most people complain the same issue thats the bots that claims almost all balance of faucets dailyl.

I agree that Dealing with bots and low paying advertising networks are the biggest problems a faucet owner has to face these days.
What others did not mention is to give your users the option to gamble with their earnings, gambling games are the future of faucets imo, sooner or later every faucet will die except the ones who have gambling games.Look at freebitcoin and how popular is their dice game,if you want your site to survive in the long run maybe you should follow their example.

just sugestion from me :
- use some fake views not only focus at 'real viewer' some ads give only small value for highest traffict
- use strongest capcha
- ban proxy
- don't use auto payout sysem like faucetbox, better you create your own system like weekly payout with mininum 50.000sat etc.

You need more protection for your faucet site due now many people are using bot to destroy faucet site and you must still update about protection due they will find another way to attack your faucet site.

They go bankrupt because of bots, that's all.
The ads renuve and prizes you can change to get revenue, it's not the problem at all...
And maybe it's because we have a thousand of faucets, so it's hard to get a lot of access nowadays...

so we must be creative for succes at this day.

for sure, maybe a not bored way(captcha-captcha-captcha) to earn some satoshis is a great idea but if you go to some game playing satoshi you will have a lower profit than collecting in multiple faucets, more fun, less profit.. that's it

Faucet is actually not profitable these days for sure, but if any faucet manage to gather lots of unique traffic per day than they may manage to get few bitcoin through ads after even paying to all their members. But bots came in between or even in early stages of  faucet and drained out all satoshi from it (when using faucetbox) and people really don't love directly manually paying faucets these days as they all want instant payment. And also it is quite tedious for owners to do all payments manually.
