Hello everyone! I've managed to get my hand on a pre-order of an Avalon ASIC 63 GH/s unit. Sorry in advance if this is a FAQ. I did a little googling and I read over most wikis I could find. I just still can't find good info. on set up of the software and the basic ropes of joining a pool with an ASIC mining rig. Do I just go off old information, is it the same? Anyone know a place to read up on how to get things going when it finally comes?

You will get help here. It's not that hard to set it up. It mines by it self when you set it up to the pool you're using.

Ah thanks! I know I kind of jumped the gun on buying one without ever mining.. I literally found out about ASIC the day that Avalon put batch 3 up for sale. My main concern is getting the 411 on how to set up with a pool and all that jazz. I guess on the plus side I have a month or two to learn the ropes. Cheesy

Yeah I did see this. Not going to lie, it's kind of intimidating. I'm sure it's not as bad as it seems. I will be studying this over while waiting for the unit.

It's not as bad as it seems.  There's a lot of information that goes beyond what is required to get it up and running.

The "Custom Hardware" forum has some good threads to read while you're waiting for it to arrive.
